Donating blood to aid someone you don't know should not be a weird, crazy or strange idea. I remember my father had a very rare blood type and placed himself on a list to donate blood. He would often be called in the middle of the night to head to a hospital in the Southern California area where his blood type was needed. He never once asked if he knew the person, their ethnicity or story. He did it because he felt in the heart it was the right thing to do in helping a fellow human being. I always admired that generous and compassionate spirit he taught us. The fact that this happened south of the US border should make no difference.

My wife and I would be happy to donate blood if needed. Please U2 me with details...

As of today MikeLikeBaja has not posted again, thanks fishbuck, but I called the Cruz Roja Hospital this morning to see if the little girl was still there and I was told she has been transfered to Clinica 1 de Especialidades del Seguro Social. I also asked about the mother if she still was at the General Hospital and the lady told me that as far as she knew but that both are going to survive or be ok or make it or whatever. I don't know if I should go to the Seguro Social and see if I can find some family members or what to do and it really sucks that fishbuck acted the way he did because MikeLikeBaja had aditional phone numbers.
You see I feel like we are already involved in this in some way. We have been left hanging with the iformation.
Did I forget to mention "thanks fishbuck"
In case I did forget;
Thanks a lot fishbuck.

Fishbuck may have said what he did in an unrefined manner but he did have a good point. Once this person is confirmed to be a known person where someone puts their actual eyeballs on him/her it's ok to be skeptical. It does not make Fishbuck a bad person to be skeptical. Hell, how does anyone know if I really exist!

The report made by the OP was of a tragic and verified event. I have been in his shoes and it effects you in a very personal and emotional way. I never sensed that he sought anything more than help in obtaining information for followup. No request for money. No agenda, spam or hint of trolling. Just a post based on a traumatic experience from someone who I believe has a lot of compassion and heart.

This thread could have demonstrated the best of Nomads, but instead turned into a joke for some and cynic folly for others. If we are going to make it the norm now that any such post by a newbie be treated so poorly I would just prefer to refrain from participating here.

Sad day IMHO...

This is the way it should be. Sounds like your father is/was a good man with a heart of gold.

When I first met Fish Dick my mind kept going back to Deserdara...Avoid Loud and Agressive Person's for They Are Vexations To The Spirit.

It was only after that that I realized that the guy was really a dick head.

Guilty as Charged

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa. It was late night and this exercise did provide me with invaluable information about the characters. Picking the skin off the bones of newbies is a favorite past time of some, or so it appears. Fishbuck was wrong, he knew it. And he deserved the wet noodle, IMHO.

If I were MikeLikeBaja, it would be a very cold day in southern baja before I posted here again. My apologies Mike, hope you felt some vindication for the one's who wronged you.
