San Felipe Question.....
Hi,
It's been a few years since we've been to San Felipe.
I'd like to provision the team with as much San Felipe groceries, meats and produce as possible.
Also, recommendations for restaurants when I'm not cooking.
Thanks,
Pops

Where will you be pitting? We'll be down there for the race with two other families and we're looking for a good place to spectate...
We were at Azufre last year on a curve which was pretty cool (and upwind) but looking for a good straighaway for high speed...
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

Hi BajaWarrior,
We're usually not in a good specator area, however I'll ask some of the crew for suggestions.

Thanks, we're in Playa Hermosa which is due east of the Sulphur Mine.
I just checked out the map on SCORE and the area on the north side of the Huatamote moving towards the Chanate has a nice little hill climb if I'm
reading the map correctly...
Could make for a nice jumping spot leading to a straighaway...

BajaRob,
Does this look familiar?
It's the hill that you and I climbed, in relation to the wash it looks like it at Checkpoint 5.
I'm thinking this is the course, please check SCORE map against Google Sat. map...It comes in a little clearer and closer.

That's what I thought Lou, looks like it will be an easy way in an out of the desert for us via Percebu Rd then along the north side bluff of the
Huatamote.
In fact from our place to that checkpoint is 18 miles. Rob and I spotted a small mountain just to the west of that hill with tire tracks, now I'm sure
it's a spot to spectate from...
Two other families will be down at our place so it'll give us all a nice oppurtunity to see the race and get in some off roading.
We were at Azufre last year and the first riders/drivers came in just short of noon at checkpoint 3 so I'm giving them another hour to a hour and a
half to checkpoint 5 (46 miles).

That hill looks very familiar except that it is much steeper than it appears in the picture. We are still pondering race viewing location. We may go
up to San Matias and watch them run the pole line. Last year Steekers #1212 and Jim waved as they went by me there. Otherwise maybe out to Azufre. It
will be time for some more chicken wings in the desert.

Other than CortezBlue no one answered Pops question about restaurants and stores in SF. I have the same question. Coming down in April (11 to 18)
with the family (3 kids ages 12, 15 and 17 who will eat most things). We have never been to SF before. I am reading that due to tourism being down
some places are open less than they used to be. I would appreciate any recommendations and suggestions you have. Thanks.

Right now you shoul be able to get a place for a unbelievable price, don't be afraid to negotiate, make sure you are in a area early enough so you
don't stress before dark.
We just got back from going all the way to cabo, and stayed in some $160.00 + normal price places and paid $40.00 on most, so it is called negotiate,
negotiate, good luck.

Thanks Fishingmako. We already have a place in SF. What I'm looking for are recommendations for restaurants and grocery stores. We
like to avoid the American versions of both and shop at the local places. I'm sure we will go down to Puertecitos to do some fishing and snorkeling
so anything down that way as well will be helpful. Thanks so much to all the Nomads for sharing your experience!
