Desert flowers yet?
Do you think Baja will display it's colorful garden face soon? Was there enough rain to create a spectacular flower display this year?

Some San Miquel beginning to awaken and some of the arroyos are alive with the sounds of a zillion bees buzzin in the saffron tops of the blooming
acacia. Ground flowers will be next and I'll bet if we get even some little sprinkles they will be spectacular.

Greenest I've ever seen. On Feb 23-March 4 the orange Mallows and several red flowering shrubs were abundant near the highway, low flowering purple
blooms and yellow composites carpeted the Viscaino "Desert" Cirios were leafed out with green and moss, elephant trees were lush. Sorry I don't know
the common names of the flowering plants in BCS yet, but the display was incredible and probably even better right now. I'll post my pictures as
soon as I figure out the best method. I enjoyed the GREEN as much as the colors!!

This is not a bad predictor of wildflower displays in northern Baja. Pick the elevation you figure on being at and choose a similar elevation in the
desert southwest.

Our flowers were spectacular last month but have nearly finished now except for the nice mini sunflower looking ones....but all is very green indeed.
