Have you recently renewed your FM3 in La Paz?
Quick question. We have everything ready to go. Does anyone remember if the application form you get at immigration requires a signature?
Just wondering if Fred can just drop off everything for both of us without me being there to sign the application form????

Thanks oldlady and Morgaine7... one more question. Copy of electrical or water bill or does it have to be an original? Electrical only has my name
on it and water bill is Jan. 09

This may be hard to believe but the last 3-4 years of renewing our FM-2 I signed all of the papers even her signature in front of them, she never went
in.

Dont know about La Paz but in Cabo San Lucas you only have to be present when you change your status or after your 5 years of either runs out...in
other words, when a new document is issued.

I used original of electric (his name), they seemed not to be fussy about the date. When we rented it was in the landlord's name and that didn't
cause any problem either.

Yes, they need an original, however it does not have to bear your name .... just the correct address.

An old one did do for us in early feb.
Yes the back of the form has to be signed, that is when you go back to pick things up.

I had to sign papers today, and needed a new letter from the organization I
volunteer with (two years ago I added this to my Fm3), before they will renew it. Did not need a letter from pres. last year but need it this
year...who ever knows!! They gave me five days!! Another long trip.

What do they want to see (in La Paz) if you're outside of municipal services and don't have water or electricity bills? Anybody else off the grid
with experience?

lucky you oldlady...usually they are very fussy about the dates of the comprobante de domicilio...they usually have to be the newest one.
Also if you dont have any utility bills, you can get a contancia from the nearest official...delegado type person...where they write that you in fact
live where you live.
I used to do all my immigration stuff myself but ended up really getting in alot of hot water and ended up losing alot of $$$ from errors that the
immigration folks made. I ended up saving money when I got Alonso Lopez in La Paz to do my renewals...no trips to La Paz at all...done deal.
So glad i dont have to deal with immigration anymore!!!
