Here is our idea of PARROTHEAD WEAR. Baja beachwear will do if skinnydipping is your thing.

I like Kate's idea. I'm not up on parrothead culture either, so I think I would just do the obvious and put a parrot on my head. Maybe a fake parrot tattoo on your forehead?

The best Buffet party outfit I've seen involved a pinapple hat, a parrot sarong, bare feet, a nice tan and a 3 Marguarita smile.

Diver has it right. Amazingly, Senor Buffet is an incredibly rich man with a worldwide corporate reach. I think I paid $15 for a plate of nachos at the Margaritaville Restaurant in the Cancun airport terminal last year. All this from a two-bit musical talent. Go figure.

He may be lacking in musical talent, but he's the king of story telling. If you can't get to a Buffet show, check out Mark Mulligan in San Carlos.
More suggestions for proper dress....grass skirt, coconut bra, (that's uni-sex) and if you don't have a parrot or a shark for your headwear, a blender will do.

What's the world coming to?

Jimmy buffet is a sign that the end times are upon us. Excuse me while I go listen to Black Sabbath at high volume in an attempt to erase these horrifying images from my mind.

Hi, Paulina here signing in under Dern's name cause I can't remember my login info....too many J.B. parking lot parties I guess.

My first thought was right along with Kate's; a white sport coat with a pink crustacean. Then draw in a pencil thin moustash (sp?) on your upper lip and you will look old school Buffett.

Otherwise, anything tropical, beachy, unorthodox, mermaidish, landsharkish, a parrot costume or an old fashioned sea captain suit would do, or cheeseburger head wear, etc. It's anything goes.

I've worn a combination of coconut bras, grass skirts, fish netting, a vintage table cloth from the Tahiti, a shark backpack, a sea turtle stuffed inside of my sarong, killer whale costume, wedding veil with feathers attached to it, yellow rain slicker over a bikini, etc.

You'll have a blast no matter what you wear. Parrot heads tend to know how to have a good time.

I sure wish he'd play at the Santa Barbara bowl like the old days.

He ain't no Buffet, but sure is a passable substitute.
Did see him last month during a gig in La Paz.
Very enjoyable. Even splurged ( my wife that is ) on some good CD's.
If you have a chance to see him, don't pass it up.

I think my photographic memory ran out of film

Buffett Wear ?

Well, if you want to show your're sympatico with his world view, a Hammer and Sickle would be appropriate.

Like the music, though. I've got "most" of his albums and spent some outrageous money on tickets to concerts at Irvine Meadows for many years.

I'm caught between mixed emotions. On the one hand, I'd like to see him Crash and Burn. On the other, I like his music.

Since his best stuff is behind him and on CD, I say let him burn.

Jimmy is one of the only things that gets me through the long winters here in WA. I always enjoy a Buffett concert....they are still a great value for the price of a ticket. Wear a grass skirt and a tropical shirt....or a pirate costume...shark...parrot....or just a wild tropical shirt. I also know Mark's music and many more Trop. Rock folk...try Sunny Jim White or Jim Morris...both good story tellers. Thanks Bubba for all the years of great tunes.
