Name of range containing Mt. Thetis?

None of my maps show a sierra name for this range. All the other ranges seem to have a name... unless it is considered part of Las Gigantes?
Thanks,

How about some details? Where do you see a mountain by that name, in Baja? A quick look at the Baja Almanac and Lower California Guidebook didn't produce any results.

I have always considered that part of the "Sierra Guadalupe," at least that is what my rancher friends there say is traditional.

Look on your Auto Club map west of Mision Guadalupe ruins.

Oh well...........How about Thetis Bank instead.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Baja's Thetis Bank Big Game Fishing

LOPEZ MATEOS, Mexico – Baja California outfitter Gary (Baja on the Fly) Graham has introduced day-trip charter fishing to the famed Thetis Bank off the coast of Lopez Mateos, about two-thirds of the way down Mexico's Baja Peninsula. Until recently Thetis Bank fishing could only be accessed by long-range boats from Southern California or from private yachts large enough to be self-contained. Graham said fishing for striped marlin is especially good in October, November and December when these billfish migrate up and down the West Coast. For more information go to www.bajafish.net. or contact Graham at info@magdalenabay.info .

Thanks. I thought it might be Guadalupe but could not confirm. Rancher friends are good enough confirmation for me!

Okay, I see it on my OLD 1980 AAA map... It is not on the newer ones. It is not on the Mexican topo, that I can see.

So, CP... is that where you saw it, on an older AAA map?

DK,
I am not sure what your question is asking... You found Mt. Thetis on your old AAA map but not new? Mt. Thetis we find on our newer maps along with 1990+ AAA maps. The locals don't seem familiar with that name. I think they call the summit San Pedro.
Don't know if I clarified anything here....

But I am all for accepting that the range name is Guadalupe!

I ordered new AAA maps today. Looking forward to seeing what is on it.

Thanks - CP

Hi CP... I asked where did you see that name, that's all. Besides the older AAA maps, what map did you see it on?

Thanks!

Here is the newest (?) AAA Baja mapof that area (2007):

Hi David,

Along with the older AAA map, Mte. Thetis is on a 2006 International Travel Maps. But who knows where they got their sources...maybe old AAA maps? (-:
