Who holds a beer long enough for flies to buzz around it?

Wellll........................I think it's cerveza without the fruit is for consuming in the PM while cerveza with the fruit is more of an AM beverage.

remember the bottles that had a cap opener built into the bottom?

and, if your beer needs lime it is crappy beer.;D

now....micheladas...there's another story. i like those with lime. and tequila and clamato. best way to deal with a bargain brew.

Another tidbit... A buddy of mine toured a Tecate brewery. The tour guide said that any bottles that are returned with limes in them are tossed out!

Ah yes, Carta Blanca! Not a great beer but adequate. Most of all I always figured if someone was that considerate to make it convenient to have another beer the least I could do would be to support them.

I can't recommend decadence as a way of life, but it has worked for me

Alas, less and less recycled bottles. Fewer purchases at the Deposito, and more at the supermarkets and OXXO.

Brown Squats

Having consumed Huge numbers of the Old Corona in the Short Fat Brown Bottles because it was usually the only beer in the Baja boonies back in the 70s, I can state positively that it wasn't the same Brew as the current Corona Extra.

But, that said, it WAS a better brew than the Most Popular Beer among Mexicans today. Busch Lite.

The Germans that created the better Mexican Beers must be turning over in their graves.

Of course, back in more economical times, I used to drink the "Brown Derby" that Safeway sold for $4.00 a case. Come to think of it, it tasted a lot like the Old Corona.

It's the chic of drinking an import. I still chuckle thinking of sitting at an outdoor restaurant near Volos, Greece. I was drinking Mythos. Guy at the next table, a Greek was drinking Bud.

The only Corona beer that I will drink comes in the 'ballina" size bottle... and, it's called Corona Familiar (or something like that). It's pretty good.

Lime was used with Tecate because it tasted so bad and still does, now thats a marketing scheme, now the most popular beer in Baja. It reminds me of Brew 102 from LA. I try to avoid it and lime in any beer.

I really took a liking to the Sol con Limón Y Sal. Might not be for some, but I found them quite refreshing. Also I think those fat corona bottles are an amber of some sort.

I had read that the lime in Mexican beer was started by an American bartender as a marketing idea and quickly gained popularity. I wasn't able to Google the story though.

You told me that answer at Anna's. I could have won the prize. If I just checked a little earlier. I hope the prize wasn't another table dance by Pompano, those poor little tecate table never saw it comin.

Forgot the name, but there's a fairly good little restaurant behind the Miramar in San Felipe that put's a "free" shrimp in the neck of the bottle when you order a beer. Nice gesture, except that I'm allergic to shrimp.:(

All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.
