HEY KEN
To keep this Baja-related... what are the chances a nice "lady" from Colombia or Venezuela would enjoy living in Baja... after having spent most of
their life in tropical invirons??? BCS has a lot of desert and it is not within driving distance of much of anything else... if a curious guy was to
travel to Colombia/Venezuela for 6-10 days what would that budget look like??? Ken.... maybe you could escort an orientation group.... this trip would
probably be classified as adventure-traveling...

Continental Airways from LAX to BAQ (Barranquilla) = $510 r/t
5 Star Hotel = $30/night (breakfast incl.)
Lunch = $6/pp (per person)
Dinner =$8/pp
Taxis = $~15/day/pp (Cruising from hotel to bar w/chicas)
Nightclub/bar = $10/pp per night (Dancing/Conversation w/chicas)
Internet Cafe = $1.00/hr. (Connecting w/chicas)
Cell Phone Booth = $2/day (Connecting w/chicas)
There's your basic price rundown.
Maria's services are extra - as are those from International Introductions. I know another guy (Starving Student-type) in town (Barranquilla) that
will act as your Translator if Maria is busy.
The problem with the tropical climate is that the effects of global warming are intensifying the dry spells and rains. The weather there feels like
110deg.F so, Baja will feel like paradise.
But, the point is you don't want a woman to move to Baja for Baja, you want her to move to Baja to be with you. So, things take time, trial, and
error.
Trip #1 - get your bearing. Meet your one or two chicas you've been communicating w/for 2-3 months. Hit the restaurants and a bar to get acquainted.
Trip #2 - Return to the one you're serious about.
Trip #3 - Followup/Triple check. Talk about your future if things are going real well/you are welcomed into the family.
The bad news is that guys from the 'States and Canada get tapped for monthly remittance funds, and they pay up as if this will make a woman love them.
It does the exact opposite - they lose complete respect, and the relationships never regains its' bearings. Plus, going everyplace with a translator
spoils the mood, to say the least. Its' best if you speak your own Spanish, are confident, and are with a woman who is close in age to you since the
younger (>25 yr.) Chicas see themselves as a commodity and rarely want to leave their beautiful surroundings.
The good news -
+ 3:1 ratio of women to men in Barranquilla (a great town to use as a base camp, btw).
+ Cartagena is 2 hours south, Santa Marta is 2 hours north of Barranquilla.
+ A good man is next to impossible to come by since so many single, beautiful women are all over the place.
+ You have Nomad Ken Cooke or Maria Jose to help figure stuff out if you get stumped due to cultural differences.
+ You can receive phone calls on your Gringo cell phone throughout Barranquilla.
+ People are friendly - the guys play pool after work each night, great way to network. In fact, just book a flight, and tell the employees at the
hotel that you are single, American and looking - they'll most likely do the rest.haha Send me a U2U if this sounds promising, amigo...I mean, Nomad.
El Heraldo Newspaper on-line (today's article about the massive heatwave):
Caribbean Heat wave claims 35 victims per day.

35 rescued per day due to Caribbean heat wave.
