FM3 COST

Iwould lik to know the fees for a FM3? not Immigration fees etc. I pretty much know those.

My question is the cost for a person to do the leg work etc. so basically what is the personal fee to do the work excluding the Immigration fees? I am getting all different prices for someone to do the leg work.

Thanks for the Info.

Renewal in Ensenada for two was $125USD.........we dropped everything off, signed some papers and several weeks later, the FM-3 renewal was ready. Worth it for us to pay for renewals as we live about 500 miles away.

I can narrow it down a little for you. Let's say one guy seems a little pricey at $5,000 U.S. because all your papers are in order, he's just the delivery guy but when you consider he has to travel from where he lives, Istambul, to Loreto, you have to take that into account. Say another guy will have to make copies, lives next to the immigration office in La Paz, is retired and bored to death, just wants a Pacifico and an enchilada, you'll have to ponder on that one as well.

Are you in US or Mexico?

You can renew or process an FM3 at Mexican Consulates in the US. Here's a link to the Mexican Consulate in Seattle-

http://portal.sre.gob.mx/seattle/index.php?option=displaypag...

And one to the consulate in San Diego. There are lots in California, and lists of all the states, just google mexican consulate.

http://consulmexsd.org/doc/non-mexican/fm3.htm

I'm going to try and get ours in Seattle. The San Diego one says "55 years or older" to get an FM3. I don't recall that on the Seattle one, will have to double check.
Maybe that helps?

While I'm not getting FM3s any more, I was always told that the Consulates in the US will issue FM3s but can not renew them as they must be renewed at the office having jurisdiction for the area in which you live/have property/etc.

Correct...............have to renew in the jurisdiction in which you live/have property

When our FM-3's were issued by the Consulate in San Diego we had to have them stamped by INM at the border, then register/process with Immigration in Ensenada....all within certain time limits.

Current fee for FM3 is $1294 pesos. The fee charged by Blanca Medina in Ensenada (same person Bajaguy uses) is $85 USD for a single person, $125 for a couple. I got my original FM3 at the consulate in San Diego, was not and still am not over age 55.

I was quoted $22,000 U.S. from a guy in Dubai (love saying that, My Guy in Dubai) but in the end I got it for 122 pesos from my gardener's cousin. Everything went smooth. I knew it would.

Well it could depend on how difficult the work is, there are many flavors of FM3, it's quite simple for rentistas versus accionistas-people who work, and the extreme would be someone who owns and runs their own business and has employees.

Soooo you can pay any amount. Decide for yourself what its worth... I personally can't see why anyone would pay to have their papers they prepare delivered to the INM office by someone else, where as they must go anyway and sign. But if you are sooo busy that you think you have no time to go then its worth any price-that your time is worth.
