Can someone tell me if the 16.4oz Green Coleman Propane bottles are hard to come by in baja?

yep. if you have one of those anyone can refill your small bottles. but....
bring the tank from your bbq. it'll last for weeks at 3 meals a day.

I use a 1 gallon bottle and a "tree" and connect other stuff to it. Here's a pic of Cabellas re filler gizmo. The ones I've tried like this only fill
a bottle about half way.

You have to invert the big tank to let the propane flow as a liquid into the small can. If you cool the empty small can in the frig or freezer they
will fill faster and easier.

The green bottles and also blue similar bottles are available at most hardware stores in Baja and also super mercados. But the cost is about 80 pesos
which is double what you pay in the States and it makes no sense. You are far better off with a small or midsize propane tank or bring a case. Since
the 1lb units last about 1-2 days its pretty expensive and wasteful-since the tanks get tossed. I think 10-20lb are excellent for camping with a tree
- It holds the lantern up. I pay about 80-100 pesos to fill up my 10lb tank from gaspasa which is a 1000% savings over 1lbers.
