yeah ...what may be lame to you is hilarious to me...actually Sharks, it was the beaver in the whacka whacka that attracted me:lol::smug:
humour is one of the things I love about this board...but certainly our sense of humours vary considerably...so what....
this sandbox reflects the state of the world so I try to ignore the negative bits, laugh at the jokes, look for the goodness in life and contribute what I can. We must exercise tolerance but not tolerate outright abuse.
Play nice kiddies.
PS: Dennis, you arent crotchety at all and you beat a mean drum man.

This is part of what I posted in Ken Cooke's 'depressing' thread, as it applies here, too...

HOW to keep the posts positive, and Baja or Nomad related...

IGNORE the stuff that doesn't interest you and PUSH the report button if you see a clear VIOLATION of board rules... foul language, personal insults and name calling, off topic (wrong forum) posts included.

DOUG needs us all to HELP him keep this place informative and friendly: PUSH the REPORT button, because the limited time DOUG has to read Nomad, he reads the REPORTS first to clean up any mess.

Instead of posting complaints about Nomad... DO something to help, push the REPORT button when a thread goes bad.

Doug believes as adults we should be able to use his forum without a lot of babysitting... Unfortunately, a few Nomads have no responsibility over their own actions, don't know how to delete bad posts, or just like to throw some gas on a fire...

I have a couple times for fun, responded to some outrageous posts... but all in all, I am here to read about Baja and share my knowledge or resources I have, happily!

To be honest...

I spend or have spent a lot of time trying to rile Nomads. Hey, I'm a self-proclaimed antagonist. I can't help to hold others accountable for their words. Those with a personal agenda other than lucid Baja(or Nomad) dialogue can't withstand the scrutiny of the fervent Bajaphobe. They will fade away or be banned accordingly.

I have struggled to maintain as a legit contributer because of the loathe I felt towards a few breathen who said after our huge losses in Baja that it was what we deserved. Because we had a place on the river. I gave out TOO MUCH information. Go back 3000 posts or so, it was a different world then. I think I did good things here,

I have always been amazed how people react during disasters and emergencies. Forums reflect those varied responses.

To me, I felt/feel the need to back way off from posting meaty threads and collections of photos or graphics designed to tantalize you, that can take hours to compose. It's sort of like getting rewaded when so many click on to see your post. It's very cool to be acknowledged for your work. That is why I admire so many Nomads and I stick around. I get education and entertainment and hope I make a few friends along the way and shamefully, a few that went another way. No longer Nomads or friends because of ????

Something I doubt I'll ever understand. It does hurt when we lose good Nomads. Funny they aren't mentioned more often but I remember them well just the same. They helped form the place, we all do.

Anyhoo I used to spend a lot of time sharing photos and trip stuff and "other" interesting or reactive messages but so much negative hype and worry news about Baja kinda took center stage fer a good spell..

Really, how can you compete with severed heads hanging over Blvd 2000, I mean really...

Yeah Beatnik, some of my posts have been called lame and a hundred other adjectives. :saint:

Perhaps you are right and Doug is two. ;D

I have the ability to change, do you?

Maybe I will......:) No more filler? Hmmmmm

naw, forget it.... hey dude, er, Mr. Beatnik Sir. I'm gonna post a link(s) to hundreds of photos and graphics I've shown here and host separately on another server. That is a courtesy to Doug in itself.
Call it whatever you like but I do it cause I like to share. JUst like DK!:P

end of sermon

Corky,

I have done exactly as I indicated I would with that.

My opinion is there are some anger issues involved here that may somehow be ill-targeted.

I'm also of the opinion that your highest moment here was in the middle of possibly your biggest anguish. Above all else, kudos to you for demonstrating such high-character. A picture says a thousand words:
