Punta Cabras update?
I am going down to Punta Cabras (near Enredira) for the long weekend of July 4th. I have not been there in 9 months. Any issues that I should know
about or are things like they have always been? Thanks, steve

Same as always. Was a water cut-off for the town. Haven't heard if it has been resolved, but hopefully that won't affect you if you bring enough of
your own.
Have fun! As always in Baja, just use your common sense, i.e., don't travel at night, etc. Might still be a swell left over from the monsoonal
flow.... But, the water will be COLD. Give a report when you get back. We miss our place (South of Erendira)

Well I just got back from Punta cabras. We go there thursday at dark and we one of three small groups camped on the dunes just before the bluff. By
saturday morning we were surrounded by other campers. I mean surrounded. Big groups of 20-30 people with all sorts of vehicles, trailers, atv's and
music were on all sides closer than 10' to our vehicles. Mexican poolka music ruled into the night.
It was a bit offensive to begin with (people jamming into "our" space) but it actually kind of grew on us. We helped some guy get unstuck from the
sand and others who had blocked our trailer helped us push it around for better access.
It was a good weekend but I was surprised at the amount of people camping with us. No sign of bandito scared folks near Punta Cabras.

Yes, we had some decent surf. A bit closed out but in the waist to shoulder range. Clean cold water. The nice thing was that out of the whole crowd
we only had my 3 surfers + 2 others. So, any nice waves that did come through were 100% available.
I recently bought a polaris ranger. This was it's first trip. Really, really fun to explore and drive through the dunes.
