Back to Baja
Since 1998 my wife and I made several trips down to Los Barrilles in BCS. We've stayed in a couple of hotels and with my parents in their RV on Playa
Norte.

We now have our own trailer and have some time from Nov. to Dec. this year to take one more trip before going back to work next year. I can taste the
shrimp tacos and cold cerveza and really want to make to the trip down from home in Palm Springs, CA.

My parents think we are crazy to go down there now but we traveled by bus last summer from Matamoros, MX to Guatemala and back and think it's still
safe if you use common sense.
So my question to my fellow nomads is what to expect, is it still a great destination (Playa Norte), is it a good time to go, and safe places to stop
along the way.

Oh and is Three Dog Corner Hamberguesa Stand still there? That's a deal breaker for my wife!

Goooooo.......Have a great time. You will for sure.
If the cartel shoots you, cooks and eats your children, siphons your gas.....don't tell anybody. It'll be bad for tourism.

You guys will have a great time. That's good time of year with regards to weather. Although you may catch a few north wind days as well.
Destination-wise...I can take or leave Los Barriles. The gringo scene there gets old quick. It's changed a lot over the last decade.

I know what you mean about changes. The first time we stayed at the Hotel Las Palmas de Cortez in the 90's you didn't even have a key for your room
and VHF radio was used to communicate locally.
Has anyone stayed in Playa Norte recently? Can you still boondock?
