Word went around that the mexican Workers were ******* in the Corona Beer!!
Know one store in San Francisco that lost a lot of money. Everybody stopped drinking Corona in San Fancisco until it was determined it was a Rumor.

My first ever beer was Carta Blanca, on the beach where we were camping at San Carlos Bay, Sonora in 1955------I was 17----bought for me by a young
Mexican cowboy------then we each bought each other more, and on and on for a fun night-----the beer cost $0.15 a piece USD, I think-----He did not
speak English, and I little Spanish, but we got on fine. The beer came from a huge Mexican beach party celebrating some holiday there on the beach.
There was NOTHING at San Carlos then, other than the beautiful bay and some ranches nearby, and that great party.
Today------ I am with you Skeet---------Negro Modelo is my favorite.
Good memories!!!!

AND...All through the late 50's and early 60's on our surfing (safaris) with our buddies to the T.J. sloughs and K-38, San Miguel,Punta Colenet and
San Quintin there was a mandatory agreed on first stop. It was the first order of high priorty business to secure liquids from the Tecate warehouse
distributor in T.J.. Cheaper to buy the bottels with a return. It worked out to 10 cents a beer. Never could buy and carry enough. They sure tasted
good!! ++C++

That might have been the only reason anyone ever bought Carta Blanca.

Brew 102 was by far the worst beer ever made not even worth 29cents a a sixpack. I think it was made in down town L.A.

Yes Brew 102 made with water from the Los Angeles River "Its' the water and A LOT MORE!
Was right off the fwy I think.
If I remember right the late Ricardo Montalban used to pitch Carta Blanca beer.

Ripple, forgot all about that one... man oh, man.. wine was big there for a while..
We used to get beer in Ensanada across from the market, where you could get fresh tortilla's. We would get a few cases and fresh tortilla's and
cheeze... brings back good thougths

Just remembered, we used to stop at the Smoke House before we crossed and picked up smoked fish and beef for the beer too... again thanks, forgot all
about the smoke fish and jerke too

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that but I did know that I like Tecate in MX but never thought much of the Tecate sold in the U.S.
This year I'm taking tapping equipment down with me and putting a keg in our fridge. Negra Modelo on tap. Stop by for a glass, or two.

Dakota Beer!
Who here has ever tried..or had the chance to try...Dakota
Beer?
This now-defunct brewery started up in North Dakota back in the late 60's. It's stock was offered exclusively to North Dakotans...who lost thier
shirts.
I recall one investor (a close relative...very close) who sent a sample of the beer to the ND State Testing Laboratory. The sample test results came
back very quickly.

Recentlt I was in Oaklahoma City stopped at a Liquor Store and would not believe it!!
TEXAS SUCKS BEER
It is brewed in a small Brewery and is sold very heavily during the Texas/Oklahoma football games. It show a copy of the Texas map turn upside down
with Oklahoma setting on top>
Its pretty good Beer but I"bet it could start a good fight if served in the right Place.

Anyone talking about Rheingold beer had to spend time in the New York area in the day!
I want to reiterate my earlier post about Tecate and that there really should not be a dif between Monterey or Tecate brewed beer as the company uses
the same formula. However, David especially, you can buy beer brewed in Tecate in the states. Trader Jose's at Trader Joe's is brewed at the Tecate
brewery. Frankly, I've not tried it, so I don't know if it's just Tecate in a clear bottle with a different label.

Bohemia is great, but it's expensive. I'm with Skeet/Loreto and shari. Negro Modelo is the best for the bucks. Tastes mighty good!
