What with people eating their horseys on the BBQ thread and us supplying the refreshments, this could turn into a regular fiesta, kinda like Nena's virtual Friday afternoon Margarita parties a while back.

Hi everyone out there in sunny Baja.

Does anyone have the 'phone number please for Ismail at Immigration in S Rosalia?? I received call on my answerphone when I returned to the DC today from the man asking me to contact him. He did not leave his number, and I do not have his contact details. That died in the flood. I believe that Squid probably has his number, but doubt he'll, opps I mean she'll, give it to me.

Now is that not a terrible coincidence, all this back stabbing online with Squid, and now a call from Ismail?? Seems I might well be treading on some peoples toes here.

Always wanted to dive with you but the timing never worked out. Are you an underwater photographer? If so would love to see some of your photos from the Mulege area. Saludos, ++Ken++

Don't worry about it. If it wasn't just a coincidence, it probably wasn't Ismael either. If it's important, he'll call back.

Okay people, here's the latest. Seems I was jumping the gun somewhat, and Ismail turned up here for his annual report and that was it. He stayed about 30 minutes and just went over the usual paperwork that I need for running my business. Seems everything is in order, as I suspected. So no problem. Call me paranoid if you wish, but my name is Mick really!!

Thanks also Dennis. I was not too worried as I am as legal as one can get here, and can prove it to whom ever.

Thanks to the guy that 'phoned me from a little place north of here, and I apologize as I could not speak as freely as I wished as Ismail was sitting not 6ft from me. I missed your name, but it was perfect timing in many ways. Call me back after 1730 and I'll explain.

Good to see you this morning Beachgirl, even with your shirt on!! You are always a delight.

Ken, I have an underwater camera, a lovely gift from Maria, but sadly rarely use it as I cannot take it out with students, and when I take certified divers out, they do not want to be hanging around their guide while he takes pictures. If you have an old slide projector, I believe I have a number of shots left from my days in Egypt and the Middle East, Sudan, Eritrea, Yemen etc. Old 35mm stuff.

However, I was out last week and took a few shots with a friends camera while she was down here. I'll try to figure how to post one or three. We had a beautiful seahorse in just 6ft of water, at Punta Preita, and took numerous shots of him. Yes he was a boy, but not pregnant. If no one understands that point, it is the male sea horse that carries the babies from conception to birth, although he fertilizes those eggs inside the female, as is the norm, and she then hands over parental duty to him by depositing her eggs into his "pouch", similar to a marsupial. He stayed in situ for two days, and we had fun with him.

Still guys and gals, watch this space.

Sadly darling, of course I know it. We have tried more than once, but stingrays and other factors always seem to get in the way, do they not?? Still, I know a man that say's you are worth waiting for. Yes, hopefully we'll get together again at Christmas time.

Thanks Bajamick. Were you with a Red Sea operation/liveaboard? I was on the Ghazala II for two weeks out of Sharm el Sheikh in 1992 with Chris Newbert and LOVED it. Please keep in touch, would really like to dive with you some day if I can ever get back to Mulege. ++Ken++

Mick I do it by uploading the pictures to one of the free photo hosting sites, and then it is easy to attach a photo using the "Insert an Image" icon right above the message window. I use Photobucket and Flickr for storing my photos. They are both free and easy to use. Photobucket is very functional, Flickr is more of a social site where you get a lot of feedback on your photos from other members. I would recommend opening an account with Photobucket, uploading some photos (easy) and then posting them here on the Nomad site with the icon I mentioned. One of the Nomads, David K, is a real expert on this and can help you step-by-step if he is listening.

My Flickr site is:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/kenbondy/

I have a lot of my underwater photos on that site.

Buena suerte, ++Ken++

Hey, Ghazala II. Been aboard her many times. I was on the Lady Jenny V for some three months doing the deep south down thru the Sudan, Eritrea, across to the Yemen, Djibuti by way of Bab el Mandab and back. Three months at sea diving, diving, diving!! That was '92 also. Matthew my son took over my job then when I went to Sharm and then to Dahab for two years teaching before leaving for the far east for some 18 months.

Hell, we'll have to meet and have cold tinny or three. You may have met my son as he worked alongside all the Ghazala boats. I believe Ghazala II went with the owner, Freddie to Thailand when he married a Thai lady. Small world!!

Mick the skipper on the Ghazala II when I was on her was an English guy (terrific fellow, great skipper, funny) whose name I can't remember, but he went on to Costa Rica and skippered the Undersea Hunter to Cocos Island for several years. Would love to have a cold tinny or four with you someday. BTW what is a cold tinny? Doesn't matter, I'll drink it :) ++Ken++

PS Ken!!

If you have heard of the world famous wreck the SS Thistlegorm, Matthew my son found her in the winter of '92. He still has the ships telescope up in CA, and I have pictures of Arabian Angels off the starboard foredeck. If you don't know the wreck, google it. She is large and was once beautiful, but sadly you know what some divers are like!! Matthew was the DM on Lady Jenny V at the time of finding her.
