Dish Network Receiver Not Getting Channels?
Have you returned to Baja after the summer and discovered your Dish Network receiver has lost some/most/all of its channels? Before you think about
calling Dish Network, I've prepared a few tips:

Now thanks a lot for all that work.... I mean it.. someone else not sure who turned me on to how to get Netlix using a IP blocker.. really cool and
worked on my mac too. Have both OS on my laptop so have some more room for other PC suggested software too.
I searched for the thread but could not find it, here is the link for the software, and it's free...might help others for getting entertainment in the
Baja

Word of caution to those of you who are on any kind of Satellite Internet connection.
Things like NetFlix (about which I know nothing) will cause you to exceed your allocation of band usage and slow you down very quickly, tho not
permanently.
If you are on some system that is hard wired, like Infinitum, it will not be affected to much.
And, Alan, that was a well put together piece of advice. Very professionally done.

Can only report on how it worked for me on a Mac book laptop 2.4 Intel core duo, with 2 GB of ram in La Mision.. Flawlessly
I'm having more rejected connections here in Orange County CA with Cox using cable..
We continue to get anywhere from 235-376 Kbs with an occasional speed burst to 408000 Kbps
Have called them, "Have you test your cable connections"? But, they were from the United States at least..

We signed up for Dish Network last March ('09) in San Diego (and love it). We purchased an additional dish and receiver from Dish and hooked that one
up at our Beach House below San Felipe. No problems to report after an absence of 6 weeks during the summer. We were also there one week ago, again no
problems.
We have used the "M" word once to Tech Support when setting up the receiver initially and it was not a problem... We even pay an extra $5 a month for
it's service.
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

telephone line connected. Dish Network has no special "Mexico" charge.
