Is it pretty easy to find fresh produce and fruit along Mex 1 after you get South of Tijuana? How 'bout finding a surf shop that rents boards?

welcome to the "pool" serwich!
I'm sure someone will chime in with specifics about the surf shop. If you have a destination in mind, that would help others give you more detailed
information.
The Baja peninsula is a really long piece of real estate, so the more specific the questions, the better the answers.
OH! one more thing...
ask one question, get 17 different answers.....and they'll ALL be right!

Cool! Thanks. I don't want to have to go back into San Diego to return a rented surf board. We plan to travel down the coast, beach camp, surf and
fish (try to get some locals to take us out) for about a week. First stop hopefully South of Ensenada. Can I rent a board from a shop on the South
side of Ensenada?

A word of caution about veggies and fruits.
Most folks soak their veggies in purified water (aqua purificado)with "microdina" or another antibacterial soak before eating or cooking. Not
necessary with fruits that are pealed. This product is available in the grocery stores.
Bottled water and purified water are available at distributors along the way as are ice cubes made with aqua purificado.

Never heard of such. i guess thats an option... Is that cheaper than renting a board? I kinda don't like the idea of just throwing it away...

Buy a used board on craigslist, then leave it with a local surfer. Probably be able to use it when you return. Gifts will have a positive effect on
many return visits. I don't surf anymore, but I give lures, knives, hooks,ect. to all the panga guides I meet. You should see the smiles when I
return. Great way to make long term friends at places you intend to frequent. Oh, eat your produce before you get to the ag checkpoint at Guerro
Negro, they feast on the stuff they take. Stock up again further south.

If you don't own a surfboard, you won't be able to surf. Renting one won't give you the years of experiance it takes to actually surf, it's one of the
hardest sports to learn and even harder to master. I can surf but I started at 13 years old in 1961. You can flounder around though.

If you get to BCS there are several places to rent boards on the Pacific side. Costa Azul used to have a shop right in Todos Santos but last time
there they were closed but were renting boards from a panel truck at Cerritos.
