PC geeks..a question

Lately my Photobucket site has started to have the cursor blink severely and even disappear once in a while. Don't know how to fix it.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also...started doing it in Vista and now in Windows7.:?:

And Kate, I found that's where you usually get the worst answers. Better off at a geek site.

I would recommend first rebooting and see if that fixes it. if not then hit Ctl/Alt/Delete which opens up your task manager and see if there is something unusual running and if so close it.

It sounds like something is running in the background or that your system is updating.

Run a system clean up as well. Start/programs/accessories/system tools/Disk Cleanup

It is also a good idea to run a disc defragment every once in a while. Start/programs/accessories/system tools/Disk Deframenter

In Win 7 this is all done automatically.

How long have you been running Win7? It's pretty new, yeah? Hmmm.

Windows 7

Not that it has anything to do with the problem, but reading the November PC World which is devoted mostly to Win 7, their best advice is what I've said everytime a new system comes out.

WAIT.

And let the early-adopters find whatever problems there are and Windows issues fixes.

One the other hand, if you're running Windows Vista, you might as well go ahead and change.

I just checked Photobucket and don't have a problem, but then I run XP on most machines, including this one.

Tom, it started doing it a few months ago on Vista. Since I was going to upgrade to 7 I let it go and figured it would straighten itself out with the new OS. No such luck.

New...I should have expected it long ago. I'm just getting half way comfortable using XP. It has more capability than I could learn in a billion retirements. I propose someone start a movement to freeze an element of all this progress and insure it remains usable to the masses of non-geeks.

I agree with MrBillM.

Did you do a clean install or install Win7 over your existing Vista system (XP or downgrading requires a clean install)? I bit the bullet and did a clean install- my PC is much faster and more stable.

Caution: If you choose the "keep your settings, programs and files" when you upgrade to Win7- you risk transferring the problem too.

Yeah I'm a geek- I go back to FORTRAN punch card programing... a real dino.

Got on some geek site and like I said, that's were you get the best answers. Apparently it's a common problem.
I followed their steps and it works fine now, including some other issues I had. Actually it were the other issues that made me find that site and lo and behold it cured the cursor flicker in Photobucket at the same time.
Tools,
Internet Options,
Privacy,
Click on settings and restart.
Did it for me.
Suerte!!
