Best Mariscos in Ensenada?

Title says it all. Want to try two places, one lunch and one dinner.

Damn, now I'm hungry.

no question--La Cocedora de Langosta at the entrance to the seafood market. Also very good, but more traditional--Mariscos Bahia de Ensenada a couple doors off Lopez Mateos. Try the pulpo, calamar y camaron al mojo de ajo.

Mahi-Mahi is consistently good. I love the fish in chipotle sauce, or the shrimp in chipotle sauce. Try the stuffed chile appetizers, I think one is smoked marlin and one is shrimp, both really good.

Just goofin'. On account that I'd be surprised if anyone can find bad mariscos in Ensenada.

I'd agre with Larry La Cocedera is superb!! Try their seared scallops with smokey strawberry sauce!

Also for sure try Las Muelles on the boardwalk, and the sublime food of La Manzanilla!

Another vote for La Cocedera. We ate there this weekend.

Excellent preparations with very fresh seafood.

Our favorite dish was a ceviche made with Geoduck clams, white fish, shrimp, red onions, jalapeno's, lime juice and grape seed oil.

Highly recommended!

Muelle 3 is my current favorite...go for the "tapitas", their tasting menu. In a word: FABULOUS. Not cheap, but worth every peso. They open at 1:00 and are closed Mon - Tuesday. Manzanilla is their sister restaurant...go there for dinner and don't order off the menu. Just tell them 'chef's choice'. (closed Sunday and Monday)

bajabound2005,

We had every intention of trying Muelle 3. We got to the harbor at noon and they were closed until 1pm. With an afternoon of wine tasting planned we didn't want to wait.......so we went to the next restaurant on our list to try and they were open....La Cocedera.

Will get to Muelle 3 next trip down!

Per your recommendation we visited Bibayoff wines and enyoyed it. We met the owner and he is a great host.

We liked the Cab, not the Zin or the Colombard and surprizingly really liked their Muscatel. It tasted just like a bowl of fresh cherries.
