Registering/Titling an RV in Baja
Has anyone registered and or titled an RV, specifically a new travel (camping) trailer in Baja???
Advantages/disadvantages?????.......process, costs?????
Before the hijacks and rants start, I'm asking beacuse I just want to know, and think it would be ultra cool to have Baja plates.

Yeah, I have. It was a brand new 2009 Jayco. A travel trailer. I registered it in South Dakota as I no longer had a residence in any state as I was in
the process of moving to Mexico.

My friend, Pam, is registering her motor home here. Would you like to speak with her? I can probably arrange that, for a few Pacificos, of course.
Oh yeah...by the way...you do realize it has to be imported at no small expense.
OK...two Pacificos.

I looked at the floor plan, no good for Baja, fridge too small for a case of bolinas!

Sounds good.
Why would you even be entertaining thoughts of putting Baja plates on a RV?
Splain pleeze.

Dunno.....just checking options.......Think it would be cool and a conversation starter while sitting around the campfire in Yellowstone, swilling
Pacificos

I'll get you a plate to put on just for that occasion.
By the way...Baja road trivia here....Did you know that when you tow a trailer in Mexico, the trailer has to have it's own insurance policy? It's
not an extension of the tow vehicle as it is in the states.

Baja Plates ? ? ? No problema...
I have a 60's Baja Sur plate on my shop..... doesn't do anything but sit there and make me smile . . . especially when I'm out there in Dec., Jan.,
etc.... with the snow thrower (used a shovel up til last winter.... why'd I wait so long...???).
How about just using your regular US state plate where it goes and then put a Baja plate somewhere else on the rig.... thus the conversation piece . .
? Not the same, I know, but it might be the best realistic option....
(I used to have a 27 foot HR MH in Loreto.... which I later sold... Loved it, but not the vandalism and theft I sufferred when gone one trip north...
It is a nice home now for a local Loreto amiga....
I hope to take my 27' Jayco Class C down in a couple of years.
Best,
djh

Actually, I have a blank Baja plate that was never issued, a concept plate....just has the printed overlay of a whale tail on the aluminum, no
numbers.
