Kayak---great, in season can even catch fish
Great mountain bike trail---we have a good team--I assume that is bike as in bicycle
Surfboard---sometimes right in front of our home, and often at Punta Choros just south of town
BTW--re hotwater at Campo Sirena-----those electric hotwater heaters take a while to really heat up.

From the main highway it is about 70+/- miles. It takes us about 1 1/2 these days depending on what we have in the back of the truck. It really
depends on what you are driving.
The first 40+ miles from Vizcaino to the turn off to BA is paved, but has some major areas of pot holes and broken road---mainly the salt flat areas.
They are always working on it, so it depends on what they have done.
Also, there used to be just one big dune on the road and now there are several small ones that spill onto the roads. They look soft, but they are
hard as a concrete tope---learned the hard way. 
The road from the Tortugas road to Bahia Asuncion is 25+ miles. When we left a few weeks ago, all but the last 8 miles have been paved and they have
surveyed the last 80 miles.
The first part that was paved has some nasty spots from a big rain storm a few years ago, the rest of the pavement is great, the the dirt part changes
from very smooth to washboard nasty---depends on when the grader has been there.
There are a couple of soft spots---no big deal.
And when you can see the town, you will have a choice of roads to take into town---the main road that follows the power lines or the roller coaster
road to the right---both get there.
Great place, but then again, we are quite biased.

I don't get it! Nobody has bashed you for giving indepth information regarding the location of B.A.? From what I gather, there's quite a few secret
surf spots that need to be left alone.

Diana, don't you dare disclose the SUPER SECRET surfing locations near BA, nobody knows about them yet, no current map indicates their location,
hoards of "squids" from the states will converge on the location and take all the good waves...there are only so many waves to go around.....let's
keep them for the locals and the chosen few....
Just a thought....if a wave happens and there isn't a surfer there to catch it did it really happen?....could you get a new one ...kinda like a
refund? does a beach have a predetermined number of waves and then no more? What happens to all the waves that nobody surfs? can we get them back, a
rebate perhaps?
Seems like such a waste, all those waves and nobody there to catch them....sorry woody, I couldn't resist....after a bottle of wine...dt

The surfing and body boarding is great at the secret surf beach, I got killed there last year. For windsurfing, the bay in front of the Beach House
is fairly calm at Christmas when I am always down, but with a fairly good wind. Ie. fairly flat water with wind. In my old sailor language, its
pretty good. If you are looking for extreme windsurfing in big waves, just to to the surf beach or just about anywhere else. I have not seen anybody
doing it but thats only because I am not there that much or they have not found it yet.

Afraid it is not much of a secret anymore with all the tournaments and now they have left up the sign attached to an old tire to point the way----it
is a beautiful spot.

Really??? I don't see any difference on principle between your road log to Asuncion and mine to Santa Rosalillita... Both are road descriptions to
assist Nomads who may wish to drive it... nothing more, nothing less.
Both places can appeal to surfers, fishermen, boaters, beachcombers, off roaders, campers... the same!

Hola amigo...just back from agua verde...I will not disclose the secret spot but will do a trip report when I have a moment....we have been fixing up
Campo Sirena poco a poco...little by little. We just did an emergency quick installation of a real water heater when our other system crapped out. The
base has now been beefed up thanks to grmpb!!! So lots of hot water now...a pretty impressive library and some games and puzzles too in the
clubhouse....a couple new plug in hook ups too. It's not a traditional campground but more a funky small camping area at the beach but in town so you
can walk to the stores. Really look forward to seeing you again pal!

Thanks Shari for the service and information you provide... You and Juan deserve success for your hard work and kindness!
Before you joined Baja Nomad, there was really nothing known about the area. Just an occaisional report on Abreojos, Tortugas or Malarrimo Beach was
all we got. Not only do we have photos, town news, and fishing reports... but a great bed & breakfast facility, camping and charter fishing thanks
to you both!
What you have done by joining Baja Nomad is also been a great boost to the Asuncion economy... homes sold, more motel and restaurant business, other
fish charter service business, beer and food purchases in town...
Good Job!
