have read so many great things about this location but am not getting any response to inquiries (emails, u2u, etc. to shari) about room availability
at juan y shari's b&b... won't be traveling with camping gear, so are other accomodations available here? gracias

When I last spoke with Shari, it sounded as if she would have several rentals available after her return. It sounds as if there will be a choice of
places for you to stay. She sould be home soon. Zoe

Yes, Shari is traveling and will get back to you as soon as they return.
They have numerous rental homes available ranging from very basic to very nice.
I think they are also renting a B&B room as well.
There are numerous tiendas in town for food and supplies and a few nice places to eat.
Also a gas station and agua purificado and much more.

we always stay in their beach house and it is fab!

Agree... the house in town right, not the shack at San Roque?
Very nice... stayed there a couple nights in '07.
The San Roque shack is great if you are camping... right on the beach. The 'beach house' in town is a 2 bedroom with large living room where more can
sleep if needed... kitchen, washing machine, TV with VCR and movies (watched a really good movie Shari recommended, Capt. Corelli's Mandolin with
Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz). House is next to the beach.
Shari and Juan are great hosts! Bahia Asuncion is a perfect fisherman's vacation location!

There is a clean, basic hotel in town with a small restaurant. Very nice people there. You cannot miss it on the main street in town.
Small town and beach is by the town.

Stopped by to visit enroute from Agua Verde vacation trip. They should be home by now..or will be very soon.
If anyone is coming by Coyote Bay enroute to Asuncion, please stop at my place and pick up 3 12-volt batteries I have for Shari y Juan.

HI Eddie, i'm Sirena, Shari's daughter, my mom will be back today but in the meantime, i believe we do have several of the houses available, the
choices are on my moms website (www.bahiaasuncion.com). Our house phone is not working for some reason but i will u2u my cell number if you need anything. When are you planning
on arriving?
And to the question about the road: I was surprised at how much they have paved, such a difference from a few years ago when it took us 3 hours just
to go from vizcaino to asuncion...watch out for the pot holes coming out of vizcaino they are getting nasty, take it slow, when you hit the turn to
asuncion it's nice and paved 3/4 of the way if not more, only about 10- 15 minutes of dirt road left, and well dirt road will be dirt road (haha) i
would say take it slow, it jumbled us pretty good while driving here but it's not as bad as other times. Hope to see you soon!!

Go slow at night, folks..there are cattle on some stretches...not to mention those potholes.

Two dirt roads diverged in Baja and I, I took the one less graveled by......

I wasn't putting down San Roque... I was clarifying which one of the two he was talking about... they are both 'on the beach'.

Roy stayed at that motel in 2007 when we stayed at the Beach House...
Not only where there issues with the room, but another guest arrived later and blocked Roy's vehicle from leaving the next morning... Was quite an
issue with no onsite manager and there was no need to park behind Roy.... but hey, that was 2 whole years ago... and as I said before... One shouldn't
judge a place by an infrequent visit! You have choices... a beach house or a motel room on the main street, behind the restaurant... check them out!
The restaurant is great, by-the-way... When we ate dinner there with Shari and Juan... they had TWO choices (no menu) meat or fish. They were both
good!

Very true---things change, and even the restaurant you ate at has been moved and the building torn down.
