southbound traffic conditions


who has travelled through san ysidro southbound recently? how was the traffic? any construction delays from the border to the toll road via the border fence road? how about around playas de tijuana?
will probably cross sunday about noon.
thanks for any current information.

Maybe a little busy with local traffic but not bad.
Just pay attention and be careful.

We just passed through there on the 22nd. The border fence road is good until you start to head up to the turn off to the Playas. There is construction going on with the off ramp to the playas, so there is mass confusion at that point.

To go to the playas the traffic has to stay to the extreme left lane. They are passing the traffic under the ramp, using the north bound lanes to take the traffic to the playas.

To stay on the toll road you will stay to the extreme right hand side as you used to do to go to the playas. There were military there as well as Policia directing traffic. It's a bit confusing, but if you go slow enough you'll navigate it just fine.
