Tacoma Broken Leaf Spring-Thoughts on Repairs?
Greetings. Since the Nomads do their fair share of off roading I thought I'd ask this here. I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 with a single (strand)
broken leaf spring (thank you Goler wash and Mengel pass). My mechanic's best advice was to bring the truck to him, he'll take it off, drive it to
the company that made it in El Monte, they fix it, and then take it back to him and he'll put it back on. Total of about $250.00+ and a lost day. He
is great but I know this basically isn't his thang. Anybody have any thoughts on where to go in the L.A. or Orange county area? This is one of those
instances I'm not even sure WHERE to go or what kind of mechanic...shocks? tires? I'm not really a techie or hard core nuts and bolts kind of
guy...just want it done right at a fair price. Would love a referral if anyone has one. Mucho thanks. U2U is fine but maybe this has happened to
others and could use the info.

Deaver in Santa Ana. The best!
How bad was the fire at the Barker Ranch? That place is magical, despite the history.

Call Deaver's in Santa Ana. They can make anything you need, on site. 714-542-3703. Tell them Jon from Accurate Alignment sent you. I have dealt with
them for over 20 years. Very good at what they do!!

Thanks for all the suggestions and I've been working through them. Price of course is a factor as I hit 170,000 miles and wonder how much I want to
put into it. Some places will replace a single leaf, some will only change it complete and S & B likes to only change both sides at same time
(which makes sense and he seemed quite cool.)
Hook: We didn't stop this time at Barker as it was getting late and we wanted to get through the pass to Anvil Springs in daylight but you're right,
it really is an amazing place even with its history! We camped overnight once in the front yard in the old days...we were going to sleep inside (who
knows...young? dumb?) but it was just too hot and too creepy!
I think the pomegranate trees in front still bear fruit and there were iris bulbs blooming last time we were there. Quite the oasis.

Deaver springs are the best I have heard. They cost a bit more, but, you can get them custom built for anything. OEM replacements would be best from a
wrecking yard. Also, Old man emu springs are great.
