Need help finding a Dog Doctor? Looking for a Specialist
Crazy question for you guys.
My dog has what is a suspected slipped disk in his neck, or possibly a tumor. It is causing him partial paralysis.
You wouldn't believe how much the first Vet wants to do a CT Scan and if necessary surgery.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever come across a specialist in the TJ area and if that might be a lot more affordable. Or even any recommendations in
the SoCal area?

Awww..nonsense. Expats in a foreign community tend to grasp anything and everything to feel a part of "Who knows everything" of the area.

He's currently treating one of our dogs with chemotherapy shots for a throat tumor. She's responding well to the treatment.
I believe that Dr. Bracamontes also has an office in San Diego.
BTW, it's fairly common for a business to share one line for phone/fac, and if the equipment isn't switching properly or there is no one monitoring
for an incoming voice call, then all you will get is the fax whistling for another fax to shake hands with. Evening clinic hours are fairly common in
vet practices here, you might want to try Dr. Rivera again in the late afternoon/evening.

Thanks GJ. Good call on the phone/fax issue. I got a hold of them and I think I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. He says they are 60% less than
the US and based on what I heard it sounds like they are 80% less than the first place I took him to.

There is a condition called Wobblers usually in larger breed dogs. Sounds like the symptoms. But Im no Vet You might want to mention it to your vet
though. Wobblers can be treated sometimes. Google it.

Yeah, one vet mentioned wobblers as one possibility. They don't know for sure and I'm not spending $3K to find out (not including the surgery and
re-hab). I've already been sucked in to paying half that.

I take both of my dogs (10 years and 2 years) to Dr. Rivera. I'm always impressed with his service and have owned dogs for 25 years (several different
vets).

Hours:
9 am to 7 pm M-F
9 am to 6 pm Sat.
9 am to 1 pm Sun.
He's on the east side of Paseo Ensenada a few blocks south of the plaza.

look up wobblers on Google there are treatments for it. If that is what it is your gonna spend a lot of $$$$$ no matter what. You will need a
specialist. I doubt you will have much luck finding a specialist to treat Wobblers for cheap anywhere including Mexico. What kind of dog is he.
