What I can't figure out about Megacable, is how they're going to compete with Telmex. Don't they have to use the Telmex fiber backbone in Baja to get to the Internet?

I'm sure Telmex will play fair with them , but as the primary provider it seems like it'd *still* have the price advantage over a reseller...

Megacable is mayority owned by Televisa, they are one of the few companies that can compete with Telmex.

Mine's essentially identical. Uploading videos is next to impossible. And the house is half that speed. I paid less for speeds that were 5 times as fast in the US.

I'm starting to think it's time to switch to [hack, spit, cough] Megacable.

You guys are talking bits (b), not bytes (B), right?

Hope no one is using nibbles.

If I admit who my cable company is I may be letting myself in for at least one felony charge for posting non La Baja related material. Oh what the heck. I'm with Time Warner Cable!

I'm down to 365 kbps, I was 1.5 mbps this AM.

DSL is not supposed to do that.

ADSL vs SDSL, cable vs twisted pair, load sharing, and bandwidth control may have some impact.. getting slow speeds, but expected it for the amount paid and it "works" ok.. but it is a long way from ELINVESTIG8R.. and I wouldn't think Time Warner would not have a problem with your post, would expect they are going to pick up a few customers from the post.. my two cents :):)

That is some kind of connection... I dropped Cox when we came down here.. I'm getting about the same speed with Telnor and their cheapest plan, as I was getting with Cox.. think Cox must have leveraged the account receivables for the next 3 centuries and are trying to pay their way out but squeezing down the bandwidth and getting as many new customers as possible.. good luck.. glad I'm retired and don't have a true "need" for really high speed net... with those numbers your past T1 by a long ways... must be fun

I don't need all that speed really. It's just nice to have when uploading and downloading. God remember dial up. What was it 56k or something. I used to pull my hair out.

So, what Time Warner plan give you 26 Mb per sec down and how much do you pay for it?
