Cabo FM3 HELP
I am sending this question for a friend of mine.
He lives in Colorado full time and has a condo in San Jose Del Cabo
He is currently paying nearly $1000 for 2 FM3's. They are telling him that he HAS to use an attorney and somehting about he has to be there for 15
days if he doesn't use an attorney.
So the question is, does anyone have a name of an FM3 service that they have used that is closer to 400 to 500 bucks to get taken care of?
A phone number and or web site would be helpful.
Thanks

For comparison only.....We use a local agency in Ensenada for our renewals. This year the renewal fee is 1294 pesos for each FM-3 and the agency
charges us $125 for the renewal service on both FM-3's

I use Patricia Guevara:
E-mail Address: pguevara@hotmail.com her phone is 044 624 355 3550
add 011 521 ahead of the number if calling from the states.
She speaks pretty good English. Can't remember what she charges, but it beats a trip from Colorado (where I am) to Cabo just to get it done.
Ive even been late and Fedexed the stuff & she fedex's it back.

Hola, as your friend already has fm3's and he just needs to renew them as i do each year, i just have my accountant do it and she charges me about $
175.00 U.S. and about the same to renew my mexican corporation annually as well.
there is also an attorney in los barriles that started her practice about 2 years or so ago that may be cheaper. if you use either, you need to find
out what paperwork needs to be provided such as bank records and a utility bill that shows their name.
it takes about two weeks or so as my accountant has to have enough business to go to la paz to file the papers.
i need to nenew my papers by mid march and a couple of years ago, i was delayed in doing so and when i called my accountant, she said i could dhl my
fm3 and other required information and she would renew them and return my papers back to me through dhl. it cost me $ 50.00 each way for the dhl
service.
my accountants name is francis olachea and her phone number in los barriles is 624-141-0652 and she speaks perfect english and has a large staff of
people. if monies are required, funds can be wired to her bank, as i did in the past.
i interviewed this attorney and i don't recall but her fees were a lot cheaper than my current. the attorneys info is:EAST CAPE LEGAL SERVICES,
GARDENIA DURAN GONZALEZ, ATTORNEY AT LAW, SPECIALIZING IN BILL PAYING, FIDEICOMISOS, CONTRACTS, FM-3, FM-2, CITIZENSHIP, PROFEPA PENALTIES, NOTARY
TRANSACTIONS, ACCOUNTING, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT, OFFICIAL TRANSLATOR AND ANY OTHER LEGAL SERVICES AVAILABLE. OFFICE LOCATED UP THE STREET FROM
BARRILITOS RESTAURANT. PHONE #(624)141-0805 OR 141-0545. EAST CAPE LEGAL SERVICES NOW HAS AN OFFICE IN LA RIBERA, IN THE PLAZA RIVIERA BY THE
RESTAURANT LA CURVA. TELEPHONE #(624) 130-0015. E-MAIL GARDENIA AT gardeniaduran@hotmail.com OR SIBONEY ORTEGA CASTRO AT siboneyc@hotmail.com (LA
RIBERA). CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE AT www.eastcapelegal.law.officelive.com ENGLISH SPOKEN
the attorney that initally got me my fm3 in 2006 is amet mayoral and his phone number in san jose is 624-122-0028 he only charged me $ 100.00 U.S. to
walk me through immigration in cabo and we walked out with the fm3 and he knew most of the people behind the immigration counter. that is the only
service that i used him for. i needed to go to the bank atm as he needed paperwork that showed immigration that i used mexican services and also to
pay for the fm3 paperwork.
i have heard there is UPS service in baja sur and people have said they have seen " brown " in the local area and they are cheaper than dhl, if dhl is
still in existence.
BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

We and many of our friends use Sergio at The Paper Works in Cabo right across the street from the immigration office.
Office Phone 001 52 624 143 2636
He is very experienced and will charge a fair price. Sergio knows his stuff and speaks fluent English. We just picked up my wife's FM2 there today.

Nothing for nothing but I just renewed mine in Cabo by my self (again) a few months ago and got it done in 5 days. Sounds like your friend is missing
something or talking to the wrong person. FYI

FM3 Renewal in Cabo
Osoflojo or anyone else who has completed the process in Cabo: In May, Immigration went to an online system. What are the specific documents
required to submit to Immigration in order to renew my FM3? Are bank statements still required? If so, how much money in the account are they
requiring? Are copies okay, or do they need original documents? Do they still require a utility bill? Do any of the documents need to be translated
to Spanish? Thanks.
