Hotel Oasis. Stayed there a year ago. Fits your comments. Off-street parking - if you have a trailer you'd need to park in the street though, I believe.

Just south of town I don't remember the name there is a trailer park with little casitas. they are nice and you have plenty of parking. I think they charges us 40.00 last year when we stayed there but it is safe and the owner lives between you and the street

Just curious, and not meaning to sound smart alecky, but anyone who is traveling Mex 1- why would they even plan to stay in Constitucion? It's a relatively short distance to either La Paz or Loreto. Understand if one is headed to Mag Bay or up the West Coast. Just wondering.

I can understand that. Guess I'm just looking at it as a traveler going from point A to point B.

We always stay at Oasis when in Cd. C. -
Happen to have their phone # right here 01-613-132-4458. They are always patient with my poorly spoken spanish.
If they were full, we might try the new budget-type looking motel on the north side of town (east side of highway) or the trailer park in that area that used to be called Manfred's and is now Hacienda something or other which has a few rooms and I hear only nice things about the place and the owners.

Don't forget to make stops at all the intersections when you drive through town....

I do volunteer work for three months each year in Baja Sur and I will be going to a meeting with the special need teachers there for a couple of days.

Fine. But you guys have to admit that Constitucion and Insurgentes are fundamentally off the tourist radar. No?

Constitucion was a strategic stop for me heading south last year, as I was able to spend most of the daytime taking my time between San Ignacio Lagoon and La Purisima, et al. Then a short jaunt on the eve of darkness into Constitucion from La Purisima (instead of driving on in the dark to La Paz) - all in a clean, affordable room with hot running water - and wireless Internet to catch up on BajaNomad - before (what was meant to be) an early morning departure on to La Paz, when it's a better time to drive IMHO.

The reason I didn't leave early is an entirely different topic in its own thread elsewhere here.
