The next storm!

When, where and how hard?
I just read Tuesday afternoon it starts and rains until Thursday afternoon.
Forcast for SoCal.
How far south will it hit this time?

Hey Bucky-

Just read the storm is going to park on Baja and thus they are predicting higher rain totals on the coast here in SD versus inland. Let's keep our fingers crossed for light rain.

Is the jet stream still as far south as it was last week? I think that's what to look for.

Jet Stream

Last week during the storms I saw a few weather reports where a big deal was made out of the fact that the jet stream was over socal, south of its usual position.

Take a look at tomorrow's forecast jet stream position. I'm uncertain of the significance.

Any meteorologists out there?

weather

Since last Thrursday, accu weather had a weather alert for San Quintin, Ensenada and Chula Vista for Tuesday and Wed for 1.44 inches of rain. On Saturday it was removed from SQ, yesterday it was removed from Ensenada and today it is not on Chula Vista either. SQ is due to get a few showers tonight and spotty tomorrow. Ens. is due to get light showers tonight after 7 pm and CV 5-9 pm thunder storms with some rain. Although I am not claiming to be an expert by any means, it appears that the tail of the storm that was going to hit us has moved somewhere else. Here in Guerrero Negro we will get light showers from 12-2 pm tomorrow.

I have a local fisherman down here who is always spot on with the weather forecasts. Not sure if he gets his forecast from the net, the stars or a crystal ball but I have found him to be much better than anything else I can find.

He tells me that we will get a little rain tonight with a chance through tomorrow morning. Little wind and nothing to worry about.

Promised me he is going fishing tomorrow...

I don't blame anyone for suffering a bit of shell shock after last week. However, this upcoming event doesn't have nearly the moisture or energy of the storms from last week. In all, it should amount to a twelve hour chance of showers, clearing Wednesday earlier North, later South, but as the jet stream undulates Eastward, the chances for rain in Baja diminish.

Started raining light but steady in Santa Barbara at about 9:30 am. today. I understand it's working its way south. Anyone else getting the rain yet?

Drizzly and gray here in Long Beach. A little cold. Nothing like last week.

The local LA weather forecast is calling or 1/4-1/2 inch along the coast. I think everyone can live with that.

Heard on NPR that Ensenada and just to the south is going to get hit the hardest with winds and rain. That's where the coldest air is.

Just reporting what I heard 5 minutes ago.

Yeah, that weather guy Doppler, said it was going to swing further south than last week. Though not anywhere near as bad! We had scattered problems in Socal, but nothing like Baja. You guys need a break down there.
