Mexican 911 number
Is there such a thing as a 911 number in Mexico that I could dial on my cell phone in case of an emergency. I have international access so I guess I
could just call 911 that way?
Not sure so thanks.

078 is one (Tourist assistance Hotline)
066 is the 911 (at least in Baja Norte)

Guys and especially Dave, thanks so much. You guys have been phenomenal. I hope to meet someday. This is my first trip down there and it could not
have been at a more adventurous time. I am driving my new car down from Phoenix with my son and leaving on Friday morning, hoping to arrive in Cabo
over the weekend. Bajanomad has been awesome. I promise to report the conditions and hopefully some pictures when I arrive. Mucho gracias again.

Has anyone actually called Mexico's version of 911?
Based on a 'Mexican model of timeliness' what would your best guess be as to an average response time?

066 works fine in BCS -- I called it when I was involved in an accident and had immediate response.

We are happy to help... It is the love of Baja that inspires us (well me, anyway) and the potential friendships to be made.
You just need to look past the childish remarks and political fighting... we go to Baja to escape that, but we can get pulled into it here! LOL
There are occaisions where we do meet up, and they are posted here... Things like the President's Day weekend 4X4 caravans http://vivabaja.com/204 , Pyramid Resort Baja Book Signing events in May (except last year) http://vivabaja.com/book6 , the Viva Baja events (last one was in Nov., 2006) http://vivabaja.com/vivabajacactus and so on.
Please learn to enjoy the REAL Baja California which to many of us is BETWEEN Tijuana and Cabo San Lucas! Here are just some photos that show some of
that from a new web page I am working on: http://community-2.webtv.net/Baja4Me/709/
We (I) look forward to your trip report!
