Head down to the marina. Purchase a fresh yellowfin tuna. Football size is fine. Fillet and wash in saltwater, chill on ice for a couple hours. Dig
out some wasabi and soy sauce. Slice very thin with a very sharp knife. Garnish as desired and enjoy!!!

No, actually there was a great sushi restaurant in the Soriana complex. Now if you were to climb the social ladder and come to Santa Rosalia, where
we appreciate the finer things in life, we have our own sushi restaurant. It used to be across the street, but moved to the ice cream parlor as they
merged.

Jesse is correct.... I love sushi so I learned to make it myself.A bit tricky at first, but after ruining a few pots of rice I got the hang of it.
Sushi rice, nori, and bamboo rollers are readily available here in Loreto.

I have never aquired a taste for most any ocean fish, and most all shell fish too.. just don't like the taste.. and for Sushi... no way.. have tried
it.. but we are talking hurl time for me..
It equates to the way some can't eat liver and onions without giving it back..
I like to fish, but mostly catch and release.. I will keep a few salmon and the tuna.. like them smoked

Are There Good Sushi Restaurants in Ensenada?
P.S. I am not dissing the terrific local cocteles servers, just wondering if there is a traditional Japanese place serving good raw fish.

yes, there is good sushi place in ensenada -- don't know exact location, but is in north area of downtown on same block as that hussong's
t-shirt/tourist trinket store. OK sushi, nice ambiance.

yes...yes...yes...coleman's yellow mustard powder = HOT !
i was told decades ago by an owner of a japanese restaurant to use very hot water and to mix it vigorously to make it hot.
the problem that i have is people dilute wasabi and the mustard with too much soy sauce or ?? i like to use either mixture in a thicker, not soupier
mix, like a thinner pancake mix. i also find using the powder wasabi version is a better tasting mix.
for either, i have found big containers of both at certain very large japanese markets for unbelievably low prices. 16 ounces of coleman's and wasabi
powder for about $ ten dollars.
true or not, i was told that the useage of such hot items is to kill germs ? hmmmm...maybe just gossip ? don't forget, fish do have parasites, some
more than others. farmed salmon, halibut and pacific rockfish are notorious for them.

The oriental super groceries in the US stock all of this stuff and it is a lot better than buying it at the regular grocery store where it becomes an
import item and the markup is 50% whereas the Oriental croceries do direct import and the markup is much lower.
Since the original question was where in La Paz is a decent place to find sushi, the place is called the Sushi Factory and is at the Plaza Cinepolis

Jeeeezo..I hope not. I would suggest to anyone weird enough to eat Sushi that they go out to the docks and get aboard one of the sport fishing boats
and plunge their head into the bait tank. After all, that's what Sushi is.....bait, and it belongs on a fish hook.
