Logical Location=La Paz
I have come to the conclusion that La Paz is the best LOGICAL choice for my relocation for many LOGICAL reasons. I am really interested to here why
ex-pats residing in or near La Paz chose La Paz, and their EMOTIONAL reasons for their choice. Climate, cost of living, peace and quiet, romanticism,
let's hear it!

Hmmm La Paz can be very cheap and has many resources though it also suffers from problems every city is suffering now. One should consider neighbors
as high priority, water, electricity and security as very important.
Basic issues such as distance to affordable supplies like groceries may be of importance unless you are capable of planning your long term food
purchases carefully in advance.
La Paz has many new and old units available though I would be careful to give consideration to your needs and prioritize with a list, do you need a
garage or two? Close access to boating? Close to grocery? Do you want a small home or large? Large is much more work. Do you want a garden?
There are many brand new units though many seem to fall far short of providing a complete living unit with garage and garden and ease of access.
Certainly Magote is one example of a project that to me falls way short for simple living.

The logical needs are there. Housing, food, employment. Let's get some "from the heart" reasons. Sunsets, solitude, love for the ocean, desert flora
and fauna, ect.

I think you just want us to confirm what you already know.
Strive For The Ideal, But Deal With What\'s Real.

The La Paz malecon is probably the best in all Baja when it comes to eating, drinking, shopping and people watching.

Depends on your life style. I have a home in La Paz, but spend most of my time on the East Cape. I go to the city for the city amenities, but live
mainly on the East Cape where I enjoy the freedom of few people and deserted beaches and great mountains/desert area to explore and enjoy. One of the
big differences is my La Paz home has an alarm system and was broken into before we installed the alarm, while my East Cape home hasn't been locked in
15 years and enjoys the securilty of a tightly knit community where we look out for each other.

bajabass, you'll have to go over to BajaGringos' site to view the "from the heart" reasons, since I'm not willing to go through all the folderol ya
gotta go through to re-size pics to post here. I'm pretty sure you'll find all you enumerated (sunsets, solitude, love for the ocean, desert flora
and fauna, ect.) & maybe even more....in the pics I've posted there!
Do a search for anything starting with "PURE BAJA" at the beginning of each thread & enjoy!

You sly old fox Comitan! As stated, I have a laundry list of logical reasons. I am trying to escape my Vulcan, Spockish side, and be a little more
human in my decision making proccess. Unexplored realms, as it were.

Although I live in Los Cabos, I am a frequent visitor to La Paz since I keep my boat there.
What I like best about La Paz is the malecon, the family oriented nature of the community, proximity to the islands, and the general lack of "raising
H" tourists.
