Campo Rene

Campo Rene near Abreojos is one of our favorite spots---we always enjoy it. Here are quite a few pix we took from our visit last week.

On the way there from Bahia Asuncion, we really enjoy the wide open spaces.

But why when I am going off for a little privacy, do three dogs and a husband with a camera follow me?

With the continual change in the management, the place is going down hill again, but we still like it. The last couple was there for only two weeks---nice young couple, except they could not cook.

A few pix of some of the facilities.

And some not so serious trolling in the beautiful lagoon.

And the lagoon with evening approaching.

And Tom enjoying the view, that is after he managed to sneak over the wall and go swimming.

Birds in the trees. Beautiful and loud

And this cute little guy at the edge of the water. Cute little guy being my way of saying I have no idea of what he is.

And this beautiful guy just wanted his picture taken over and over.

He decided to take off.

And this guy asks why no one ever takes photos of him.

The end, except look at the neat license plate my son was able to get in Montana.

Thanks for looking.

Diana

Really great photo show, Diane. Not having been to Abreojos in like five years, can you tell me what the heck is going on there?

Thanks to both of you. I also think that is a cute hairdo.

Campo Rene is between Highway One and Abreojos. It is about 5 miles to the turn off from Abreojos---and the other turn off is VERY muddy right now.

It appears as though your son has found flyfishing heaven, Diane. I'll bet he pulled out a bunch of spotted bay bass out of those areas.

Great heron pix, Diane.
I believe your 'cute' little unidentified bird is a Black Crowned Night Heron.

Thanks. I am really glad some of you enjoyed the pix and thanks Nena for the bird identification.

Now, not sure if that Heron is a symphony conductor or a rock star.

Those of you headed that way, hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Son did not do any real serious fishing but he plans on returning as he loved it. Right now he is on his own camping south of Mulege and enjoying his kayak in the bay.

It has been a few years since he has been in Baja and now I wonder if he will leave, or at least not until the last snow leaves Montana.

Thanks.

He is camping at Playa Escondida which has long been one of his favorite spots and it is beautiful.

WOW
Terrific!
Funny but last week we were driving south talking about what a great place Rene's is and wishing we had time to go, when we saw the sparkling new sign on the side of the road. We both remarked that it was new.....not far down the road we saw two guys on the northbound side putting up the sign for the northbound people.
Thanks for allowing me to go there without going there
