ULTRA LOW SULFUR DIESEL FUEL

Does anyone know if this fuel is now available in Baja. I know it was projected to be available for sale 1/1/2010.

ULSD

Malcolm,

Nice to hear from you guys... and welcome to BajaNomad.

Regarding your question, Pemex began distribution of ULSD in Mexico back in 2007... the introduction was planned in stages, being the first one all the States that are on the border with the US... including of course, Baja California Norte.

BajaCactus Gas Station...

We have been selling ULSD at the BajaCactus Gas Station in El Rosario since February 2007 (as well as every other Gas Station in Baja California Norte)... perhaps you have already bought it and did not even realized it...

Antonio,

Any idea of what Sur might be doing with stocking ULSD?

Thanks Antonio... You may want to share this on Vagabundos del Mar, as they have a lot of concerns there... it is better for you, being a Pemex station owner, to provide the facts.

A big welcome to Baja Nomad! (I remember first seeing Malcolm Smith in the film 'On Any Sunday' when it was in theaters! Then of course in Baja at the races!)

Hola Malcom and welcome ! last year, my neighbor in los barriles had starting problems with his newer gmc diesel pickup. he had a mechanic work on it and after they couldn't figure out what the problem was, he had it transported to gmc in la paz and they wouldn't let him unload the truck for service so he had it transported back to the U.S. in an enclosed big rig at the cost of $ 1,800.00 U.S. to a gmc dealer and he emailed me and told me the problem was with a sensor ( sulfur ? ) that gmc replaced and also paid him back for some of the transpoRtation fees.

this was after he made one and a half round trips to los barriles in the truck.

i don't have a diesel but haven't heard anything more about baja sur having the ulsd.

i saw on one of the baja websites the pemex website. perhaps someone on this board has it and can post it ? i'll try and find it for you in the meanwhile.

BIEN SALUD, DA RAT
