electricity
We are currently in a campground in Loreto. A fellow camper who knows something about electricity says the volts in the campground register over 130.
I understand that this is very hard on an rv refrigerator so I switched to propane. Does anybody know if it is also hard on a microwave and/or a
computer. Is it best to unplug or is it not really a problem? Thanks Ron

Most laptop supplies today are good from 90 volts to 240 volts. They will not be hurt by the high voltage.

Thanks for the info on the laptop. Does anybody know if the extra voltage will harm the other rv systems? I'm told it isn't good for the refrigerator
but I'm just wondering about interior lights etc ie does it hurt to leave the motorhome hooked-up to electricity? Thanks Ron

the normal hook up current for a motorhome first goes thru a "converter-charger"
the "juice" is clean after that
most appliances can work ok on 106v to 130v no problems

Standard voltage in the US is 120 volts, plus or minus 10%. That gives you a standard range of 108 to 132 volts. Standard voltage in Mexico is 127
volts. By the way, the voltage reported for AC is the root mean square, because the actual voltage is a sine wave. The real peak voltage of a 120 volt
AC system is 169.7 volts.
The 130 volts won't harm anything.

Thanks for the info. (My knowledge of electricity stops at knowing the difference between a two and a three prong plug!!) Thanks for the info. Ron

When I am in Mexico I was told to be concerned with voltage spikes for my computer. Not sure if that is something different.

If you have PC you should have a voltage regulator.
