Laguna Chapala
It is normally a dry lake bed. I can't remember ever seeing it with this much water in it. Photo was taken February 12th 2010.
(Laguna Chapala is 40 miles south of Catavina at the junction of Mex 1 and Mex 5.)

we passed thru the day before and were surprised to see the (normally) dry lake just south of Pedregoso along the hiway full of water also....

The Owens River is now partially running into Owens Lake again, by a Court Order---------it is un-clear what will happen on the "lake" down the line.
It was a very viable "lake" 100 years ago, unlike Laguna Chapala. The Dept. of Water & Power (city of LA) has been ordered to mitigate the dust
from Owens Lake, and the project is now a multi-million dollar endeavor. Owens lake is a patchwork of various projects now, I guess to see which one
will work out the best.
I have seen Chapala with water in it several times over the past 50 years, or so--------so cool!!!! Now come the black fly's, as well as the wild
flowers, I suppose. Just shows that a little climate change and Baja would be a different place, for sure.

Drove by Chapala several days ago. There were water skiers out.
