| Quote: | | Bob....you nneed to clarify....I have been fingerprinted numerous times while in the military and my civilian jobs. I received a SENTRI with no
problem |
I said fingerprinted by POLICE (as in arrested) for having loaded deer rifle in truck.

The real question is why you can still enter via the regular lanes? Doesn't keep criminals out of US just out of Sentri lane

BUT, aren't we getting side tracked here? Remember way back to the original question that opened up this thread. Remember that a lot of us still
prefer to use San Yesidro and not waste extrs miles (18) AND time (20 min.) going through Otay Mesa.
"Just wondering what is the easiest and quickest way to get to the San Ysidro Sentri line when coming back from Ensenada???"
Just do it!

Best first step is to contact the Court Clerks office of the District/Superior court in the jurisdiction where the event occurred.
|
In the case of my arrest for having loaded deer rifle in truck I just paid a fine to the local JP and therefore there is no court record to have
expunged or sealed, but arrest still shows up as a weapons charge for Sentri pass.

This - we would like the choice. The only way we know was the "left at the 'scissors' glorietta, over the bridge - left at the next glorietta..."
But the last two time we've tried it - it was closed.

I live in playas and use the SY SENTRI lanes. There are three ways to get to them that I know of and none of them are easy to describe.
Here's what I have been doing for the past 3 years.
After you get off the toll road you'll be on second street. You can just stay on that or take the border highway, I prefer second street. When you get
to the border there will be one lane that goes to Colonia Federal. It's the far right lane just to the left of the concrete barriers. The other lanes
go to the regular border crossing lanes, don't use those, get the Colonia Federal lane.
Follow that around until you get to the big traffic circle. be sure to stay in the left lane as you approach the circle. Make a U turn at the circle.
Sounds strange but you'll see.
After you make the U turn follow the road as it curves to the right.
You'll come upon a 3 way split. Two lanes curve to the left, one to the right. Stay in the rightmost lane that curves to the left. That would be the
middle lane of the the three choices.
You'll quickly come upon a stop sign with a No Left Turn sign. Make a left turn and you are in the SENTRI lane. EVERYBODY that takes this route makes
the left at the No Left Turn sign. Don't worry about it.
That's the fastest way to get to the San Ysidro SENTRI lanes from the west.
Avoid crossing on weekdays before 10:30 AM. If you must all bets are off. The cops are on the streets redirecting traffic as they need to to avoid
gridlock downtown. I once tried around 8 AM and got redirected so many times I gave up and went back to playas. There was probably some way to get to
the SENTRI lanes, I just couldn't find it, all approaches were blocked.

Bob.....contact the District Attorney's office in the jurisdiction where the event occurred and ask about the procedure
