Anyone going to San Felipe April 1?

Anyone going to San Felipe tomorrow (April 1)?
I am trying to decide if I want to fight the traffic for the weekend. My neighbor in SF told me that he came back from Calexico this afternoon and it was a 1.5 hour wait at the Military Check Point. If someone is going down and is crossing the military check point between noon and two I would love to either get a call or give you a call to see what the traffic is like. If I go I will be leaving Phx at 2 PM.

U2U me if you can help out.
Thanks

Friday afternoon it was about 10 minutes going south and about 15 minutes coming north Monday morning. Guess I got lucky and didn`t even know it!

You didn't get lucky, it wasn't Easter weekend.

This weekend is probably one of the busiest of the year for SF

Oh, that's right! It is Easter Week. We were down at Semana Santa last year and town was crazy the end of the week and weekend...we woke up on Easter Sunday and hit the road at about 5 a.m. Wasn't bad then, but I heard that the road was packed later in the day with Police escorting groups back up to Mexicali...if you go down don't go home until Monday....or Tuesday....or......;D

El Chinero Miercoles

Heading SOUTH at 2 p.m. Came to a stop about 50 Cars back and spent about 30 minutes there. Inspecting EVERYBODY. Opening the back of 40' Truck Trailers and going inside. Cars pulled over to the side with Soldiers rummaging through them as the Mexican occupants stood around looking miserable.

No other slowups except for the usual Hwy 5 Semana Santa Seatbelt checkpoint at the South end of Mexicali and that was just a momentary wait.
