zoning restrictions for residential use...

okay, I know that asking about zoning in Baja might sounds like a way off the wall question but...

I'm planning a move to La Paz when my lease expires here at my palapa in El Juncalito where anything goes building/residential/etc wise. I'm very familiar with the city and have looked off and on there for something suitable for my needs without much success. my primary interest is art/painting and basically I want a large well lit area to paint in, with the residential part being much low priority. in the rental market...houses, condos, apartments, etc..the bedrooms are too small and generally the living area is unusable also.

what might work best is a large locale or office or business or such. anything with a bathroom already 'in' that I could make into a living/painting place. I haven't looked at nor inquired about such...does anyone know if living in a place rented or sold as a 'locale' is legal. or even something to ask about.

reality\'s never been of much use out here...
