Puerto Escondido - SO MANY BOATS! Did they drop the mooring rates or what?

There must be 100+ boats in Puerto Escondido right now. Did they drop the anchoring/mooring rates or what? Or maybe just too many boats for the 'waiting room'? Anyone have the scoop?
(edit for spelling 9 seconds after the post- still some errors likely:lol:)

If you are talking about the Puerto Escondido here in Punta Banda, it's because the Commador of our yahct club lives up there:lol::lol:

HPYC (Hidden Port Yacht Club) 9th annual Loreto Fest. all moorings in the harbor were full with additional boats anchored in the main harbor. count was about 120 there. the waiting room and ellipse were full with their regulars plus anyone else who could get an anchor down. hard to get an estimate of the crowds but will pass it along when we get things figured out.

Loreto Fest is always held the first weekend in May, so mark your calendars for 2012.

forgot...yes on dropped rates recently...the Loreto Fest special 20% off for I think it is the week around LF. reservations are required for that rate. Constanza, the manager, will most probably offer it again next year.

I understand the general rate is lower than it was last year, but I don't know the details.
