Looking for the best prices (not on Lopez Mateos).
Thanks |
Because of high MX taxes on booze it's best to buy good stuff at Duty Free before you cross the border

Great stuff!!!!!!
Thanks for the lead, Bajabound 2005 and BajaAmigo!!! |
Not familiar with this tequila, but I have been over to a few folks houses over here who were serving very smooth, inexpensive (8-12 dollars US)
tequilas. In almost all cases (Azul, for instance) they are dialing down the alcohol content to below 70 proof.
Yeah, reducing alcohol content WILL make tequila smoother.

+By far the lowest prices, and on par with Calimax & Soriana as long as you have their respective club cards.

ok, the "famous" tequila store in Ensenada in the Los Globos area....northbound on Reforma, turn right on Coral which is between the Pemex and
Toogino's Pizza . Travel about 13 streets, counting every street on your right and left. The liquor store is on the left in a white building with a
sign "MONTEZUMA #4" and a Tecate sign. They have HUNDREDS of tequilas. Worth a visit/tour even if you don't buy anything.
Friends don't let friends drink white zinfandel.

I'll need to go by there this weekend if I make it down. Seems some low-life-druggie-tweaker-scumbags broke into my house in La Mision and drank all
my booze while they searched the house . The only things of real value, about 10k worth of rods, reals, and tackle were
left alone . They are now in my office in Orange. This place should make it
real easy to restock.

I'd 2nd MONTEZUMA#4 , we only went there once but it was because we were told they had the best selection of tequila and Mescal. Small store but jam
packed with cool never heard of before brands!

Licores Horta Del Sauzal
This info is kind of old these days....but hey, it was thee place to shop back in the day.
For many years we would stop at this liqour store located on the main drag north of downtown. East side of the street and easy to park your rigs on
the west side while southbound.
We always got the best prices on Ron Palmas rum..the only stuff we drank besides Pacifico, Corona, Tecate, Carta Blanca,
brandy, vodka, whiskey, wine, mead, and schnapps.
CostCo, eh? No, thanks..just ain't the same thing.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

Comitan, is this the Liqor Srore in TJ?
Leyva's Liquor on La Revo between 6th/7th for the best tequila selection and prices in northen Baja. He also has many other Mexican spirits and
liquors.Ask for Gilberto Leyva.
Also nearby, is La Villa del Tabaco for Cuban cigars and espressos, run by Elana Rawman.

Hey, tripledigitken
Yes, maybe, I think so.
After a few margaritas, my memory improves.

Thanks Bajabound for the perfect directions! What a cool place!
We've mowed through the Tequila's at Calimax and wanted to try some new ones. I think we'll be busy now for quite some time
