Cancelling a fiedecomiso and getting title in your name
Since Immigration and paperwork issues are at the forefront of recent posts I thought I would throw a question out there to see if someone out there
in Nomadland might know the answer.
We have several fiedo's and planned to have the title transferred to our name after we got our MX citizenship. My question is: has anybody done it?
How much trouble was it? How much did it cost? Anything you would do different?
It occurred to me that the banks would do whatever it takes to make it expensive and difficult to do as they have a pretty good cash cow there.
Imagine making $380 a year times who knows how many and the only thing you need to do for the fee is to send a bill.....dt

Hell David, Bancomer won't even send me a bill! As Shari mentioned there is a guy that can facilitate your nationalization paperwork in Mexico City.
There are a few here that have done it and all it takes is $. For awhile it was tough but then it eased up some but I haven't heard any thing about
the process since May when the changes went into effect. If you're interested I could get you the info on the guy people here used and how much it
cost to switch to a title. I have been hearing about some of those that got corporation papers and it is a real pain with a lot of rules to follow
that they weren't aware of going in. I'm considering being naturalized too.

dt - since you are a fan of mexican processes ....  - when we can meet for a
few remind me to describe (takes too long here, i do not type) what my partner here went thru as for hoops to get his part 121 operation using Cessna
turbo prop equipment and regular scheduled service from SDL and MMPE last year.
it will blow your mind - well maybe knot... but it is funny and tells much about how STUPID the mexican processes can be when they ought to look
beyond a tree and see a GREEN forest...

I have done my fideos and corporate documents without any problems. The cost of cancelling the fideo is written in the document - I think it cost me
$800 plus notary fees. The corp documents were just a notification to foreign affairs showing the change of immigration status. It was done by my
notary easily -- key here is to go straight to a good notary and not a middle man.
We nationalized 5 years ago in Mexico City using a lawyer there. One visit to apply and then returned 6 months later and picked up our documents and
got passports. If we hadn't wanted passports we would not have needed to return.

With which bank did you have your fideo? It seems it is different among banks.
Also, if dtbushpilot called thier bank directly, would the bank tell him the fees?
dtbushpilot, you said you have 4 fidos, correct? Have you ever checked about adding a piece of property to a current fido? I am curious if that can
be done and what the cost of doing that would be.

I've never asked. Those who have done our fiedos were aware that we already had existing fiedos and never mentioned adding one. I'll find out unless
someone else might know.....dt

About adding a piece to your fido....
It can be done IF the piece is adjcent to the land you already have without any road or public space separating it. One continuous lot. I've been
trying to add to my lot but Bancomer is not playing.

Interesting, so no go if it is not adjacent. And we have been told that it is almost as expensive to add an adjacent lot to a fideo as it is to
create a new one?????
Any one have experience with that?
None of it would be so bad if the fideos were not so dang expensive ---
And dtbushpilot, I think I remember a thread someone in the past that talked about someone having a real problem getting the bank to cancel a fideo
and they kept charging the fees-----hope whoever that was reads this thread and responds.
