I am ready for a trip...but is my passport?
I sent my old passport (expired in January) to trade in for a new one in like 6 weeks. 4 weeks to go.
I am ready to travel now.
Any probs coming back to the States? I have witnessed people with NO documents crossing over, just a few questions. That was like a year ago.
You know I'll go anyway, fishing and camping down to the house...just "what do I need to cross he border?" I'll skip the Mexican formalities, but
those damn US ones may be annoying.
Come to think of it, I always get sent to secondary inspection at the border and get rousted by the Border Patrol in AZ. I think I've answered my own
question. It just can't get any worse.
I'll report in a couple of months.

Birth Certificate and I.D. No questions asked of our friends who traveled with us and didn't have passports this year.
Haven't had a bad trip yet....

I wouldn't delay a trip because of not
having a passport in possession.
Read a post off an Mex RV board,
some guy claims his relative is a Texas
Border patrolman, this Border Officer
says he doesn't think the Passport Law
will EVER become mandatory.
I'm glad you put a disclaimer in about not
messing with Mex Formalities,
which I assume is not getting a Tourist Card,
which I believe is issued to Passport/Passcard
holders. I must be getting old, just in
the last few yrs., have I changed old habits
and strictly follow to all of mex Regs

Yeah, no reason to change my bad habits. I hope they have a sense of humor at the border.
I WILL report in a few months. What are they gonna do? That they already haven't?

Funny...I crossed with friend (San Ysidro) who only had driver's license. We got through, but were told that by July, it would mean $400 fine and
mandatory secondary. Maybe he was misinformed or just going scare tactic.
