It's an outboard motor. Don't they have pressurized fuel tanks? Couldn't pressurize one if the cap was loose.

Fuel tanks for outboard motors have a vent fitting, it has to be fully open for the motor to run properly.:)

I looked for someone with the code reader and couldn't find any, but I have this suggestion, many times the check engine light comes on due to lack of fuel to the plug, sometimes trolling and cruising at low rpm/speed causes buildup of crap and an attempt to run it full open periodically will help. It has worked for me to end the check engine light and is recommended by my outboard motor mechanics.

OK...Well, I don't know squat about this stuff. That's why when the CHK ENGINE light comes on my dashboard in my car, I just put black tape over it. There are three pieces of tape in various places now and I'm still truckin'. :?:

I don't know squat about those lights either. The check engine light just went off on my Exploder and I disconnected the battery cleaned the connections and re-connected it and walla... no more light :O
