You'll LOVE this trip!

It is Central Baja Coast at its most beautiful and pristine.

Bring a kayak to explore the loooong estuary between Abreojos and La Bocana.
Its protected by a seaward sandspit and is brimming with raparian life.

Stop and meet Blanca in La Bocana.
She has a beautiful place at the far north end of town.

That sounds like the plan, and I will definitely bring a camera.:) Is there anywhere nearby i could rent a kayak?

sorry folks...no kayaks here at all...but I will work hard to change that - Art is someone who always comes in his kayak and heads to the lagoon and ocean here

Come visit La Bocana

Flylandia or Flyistan

At first I thought rts551 was kidding with me to keep tourists away, but I guess not. Once I camped at Erendira after harvest. The rotting tomatoes and the "remnants" left behind, so to speak, by the field workers made for flies like I've never seen. Yikes, oh Lord of the Flies, I turned around and went back to quaint and charming Tijuana.

We did find some dead dolphins up the point which may have been the source that year but Abre has always had flies, and folks usually said they were from the dump. We stayed several days though because the nights were stellar and the surf was great...just have to have a screened room to hole up in during the day.
Asuncion didn't have any fly problem at all, it was beautiful there.

I don't think it is the dump... All towns have dumps. Seems to be mainly coming from the beach. Maybe combination of warm air and the sea weed/trash. only occurs in the summer. Oh man when a red tide hits!

Good point...and the water is colder up in Asuncion, where there are very few flies...

In the afternnoon
Spring is wind surfer heaven... Hell for the rest of us

summer can be windy but keeps it cool. If the wind dies or comes in over the desert it gets hot

Best time of year around those parts, fishing and weather, would have to be Oct. through Dec. June and July can be a little windy and water will still be cold.

The flies last summer were most definitely not kelp flies---more like the common house fly type...kelp flies aren't usually as much of a problem.
