Looking for Sources for Cerebral Palsy boy

Anyone here have contacts for a Cerebral Palsy organization for special toys and equipment for a 4 yr old very bright little BCS boy?

I am looking for any electronics-usable (this boy may never talk or walk but never say never) learning items and things such as the puzzles with really big knobs to work on on motor skills. He needs some sort of "page turner" for cardboard books as he can not grasp much but loves to be read to...

Also if anyone has any leads on a jogging stroller-type thing w AT wheels that might fit this guy until he's 10 or so. I have been told to check Craig's list but I really am clueless abt that. Presently he has to be carried around.

After a year's struggle we finally got him up to Shriners in Los Angeles . We found out that they don't do CP but at least he was evaluated and now we can move on to improving his life in Baja. I brought stuff down to his home when he returned to BCS and now he is learning his letters....and his family is working on strengthening him and stretching muscles. If any Nomads here have contacts to special needs in Spanish for instruction I would love to hear from you. Our goal for this next year is learning his letters, and eventually teaching him to read....that's a ways off but he is so bright, he'll get there. Thanks, Teddi

Custom Stuff

Hi,

In your post you mentioned a stroller. Below is a link for a guy I know named Hank. Hank is in a wheelchair as result of a boating accident. He saw a need to build wheelchairs that can go off road and on the beach. His electric beach wheelchairs are expensive but he does have manuel chairs with beefy tires too. Hank is a gem of a person and may be able to help you.

Good luck!!!!

Have you thought about writing a short story about this boy, maybe with pictures and sending it to the United Cerebral Palsy Organization and ask them where you might turn for more help--even more information as to what would improve his quality of life.

Best of luck and will give this some more thought----
