Vizcaino---but there is one gas pump in Bahia Asuncion by the water store---a little more expensive and does run out at times. If it is closed or out of gas, the pump is wrapped in cardboard.

Also usually available at a ranch at the beginning of town.

There are two Pemex stations near Vizcaino. The first one, at the north end of town, is a grimy truck stop, always busy, often with waiting lines.

The other one, a little south of town heading toward Santa Rosalia, is new, sp*c and span, and usually has very few cars. They also like dogs, always a plus. That's the one I prefer, even though it takes me a couple of miles out of my way.

Remember, where there is no 'Pemex', there are independent gasoline sales going on. As stated, one is in downtown Bahia Asuncion, on the main street.

Whenever I can, I buy my gasoline in Bahia Asuncion, even though it is slightly more expensive than in Vizcaino. Why? I'd rather keep my dollars in the community where I live.

BTW

Last I recall, there were two Pemex in Bahia Tortuga, should you want to venture that far.

Good reason... reward the businessman for his efforts, and keep him in business so if you really need gas in Asuncion, he will be there!

Where do the panga fishermen buy their gas?? If you fill up in Vizcaino you can tool around quite a bit before you need to buy more unless you have a big gas guzzler. It's like a step back in time at the Asuncion gas stop. Still pump gas out of a barrel in San Juanico??

the cooperativas have their own gas pumps for the fishermen...we also keep a barrel on hand in case the village runs out of gas....which happens often so if you are here, it is good practise to keep your tank half full so you have gas when you wanna leave...also the gas station doesnt open till around 9:30 or 10 or when Hilario feels like it.
