The Mexicans call it a Gusano Rojo and they tell me they turn into butterflies, but they are a little unclear about which color, but a couple have indicated the yellow ones.

Mulege is a town on the SOC
BCS is Baja California South
Thats the state below Baja North

I know where Mulege is. I thought someone was answering the question as to what type of insect with Mulege. Was quite confused by the answer BCS and Mulege.
