New FM3 card question- pictures
We are trying to get the paperwork done in the US to get our new FM3 cards. I think I can figure out the forms, but I have read that you need to have
passport photos taken as well. We'd like to try to do that here, but I'm not sure what is required. I can't seem to find the specifics on the
government website (my Spanish is not so good!) I have heard: 5 pictures, 3 frontal/ 2 profile, infantile size. But what kind of profile? right?
left? full profile? 3/4 profile?
I don't want to do it wrong since working with immigration officials tends to be a long, frustrating process as it is. Anything else I need to know?

Size is approximately 1 inch wide by 1 1/2 inches tall--- which is smaller than the regular passport pictures.
White background and right full profile. Our immigration office also wanted them without glasses.
Ours needed to be in color, but my sister did hers in Ensenada and they wanted black and white.
But I hear that Ensenada changed to either? Which immigration office in Baja will you be dealing with?
Right now it seems to make some difference as to which immigration office you will be dealing with---requirements don't seem to be exactly the same.
Good Luck-----it was a lot easier than we expected with all the changes this year.

Thanks- we are dealing with Loreto immigration, which in the past has been a little shady. So we want to go in knowing what we are talking about (or
look like we know what we are talking about! LOL!) And no extra fees, right? We expect to pay our renewal fee, but don't want to be hit up for
anything more.

kate......I just renewed my FM2 last week in Loreto, and it was a piece of cake. The Loreto Immigration office also requires that the photos be in
color.
2 copies of a letter requesting the extension (In Spanish)
2 copies of the photo page of your passport
2 copies of the Formato Basico form (filled out is Spanish)
The forms from the Internet
And, the photos and a folder to put it all in
That is it. No utility bills or bank statements were required.
The new agent in the immigration office is very professional and helpful, and gone is the undercurrent of corruption that used to radiate from the
office.

Thanks Bill- I had heard that the immigration office has new guys in it- that's good! I appreciate your help. Did you get your photos taken in town
somewhere? We are having trouble getting them in the US.

kate.....Yes, at the photo shop near the clinic on Salvetiera(ms?). I think the set was 200 pesos.

One more question.....
When the form says, "Pasaporte o Documento con el que se identifica el extranjero"- does that mean I put in my US passport information or my FM3
information?
