San Felipi medical question ?

hey gang;
I'm down here in Gonzaga.
Managed to get a small case of ringworm on my foot.
some anti-fungal cream doesnt seem to be workin.
By any chance ?????? Anybody in/around SF coming down this way that could pick me up some anti-biotic/fungal pills at a SF pharmacy ??????

Based upon your location and the lack of response to an anti-fungal creme, I think it is more likely you have a streptococcal or enterococcal infection (e.g. mierda in the water). These respond best to penicillin, ampicillin and erythromycin. I don't want to be an alarmist, but these type infections can go from a minor nuisance to life-threatening in less than 48-hours. I suggest you go to a doctor immediately.

One of my friends lost part of a toe because of the same thing. If you have some vinegar, soak the foot for a few hours.
Just a note: if streptococcal, the stuff can kill you! And is very resistant to antibiotics.
If not gone in a day or so, cut your trip short and immediately head to the nearest US hospital.

In future occasions, it is best to wade in the SOC waters with booties on, if nothing else but to prevent stingray bites. I know they look dorky but safety take precedence.

Stingray stings suck!!!

Booties might look dorky, but they don't hurt like hell!!

My sister's kids got stung quite badly .... But kids recup so fast, later the same day she walked around as if nothing had happened ....

Hope your "ringworm" is NOT serious - the vinegar idea is a good one - natural antiseptic

If it's fungal. Go to any pharmacy here in baja and get Sporanax. You don't need a prescription. get the 7 day one. I had a bad skin issue and it killed it off. Nothing else would touch it.

I also hear that peeing on your feet kills foot fungus. An old army thing I am told from Vietnam(jungal rot)

For what it's worth...
While living in Florida as a kid, my sister and I got a case of ringworm, which didn't respond to the medical attention we received. In desperation, my Mom poured bleach over the infected sites and pricked them with a needle, which had the desired effect.

Thanx for the concern !
Nope,not gone yet.
Sunday,it took a turn for the worse,Monday,I went around Gonzaga seeking any medical advice/medication.....
Everybody was out of what they thought I should take,("Cepro Flaxin"),all the good folks down here are concerned, suggested I get to San Felipi Medical,ASAP !

But ! I was given some Epsom Salt, been soakin it till my foot is wrinkled, also put a lil bleach in the water, went back to anti-biotic cream, ditched the anti-fungal stuff.....Today,it seems a lil better? The SF trip would deplete any funds I have left until "resupplied",so I'd kinda be stuck down here then.Either gotta do the San Felipi trip or go home to San Diego, only enough cash for one trip !
